No Fair!

Multiple sources are sending in word that CD-6 GOP candidate Diane Gooch was "asked to leave" the St. Catherine's Fair in Middletown last evening.

How does that happen?

Maybe she was working on the next edition of "Comment, No Comment."

In case your not familiar with Comment, No Comment, we refer you to our friends at RedBankGreen:

A little background is in order here.

In addition to the weekly newspaper she and her husband bought from Geraldo Rivera in 2004, Gooch also publishes a magazine called “TRT: The Book.” (A “book” is what people who work in the magazine industry call magazines, but never mind.) The Book, which caters to the carriage trade, has been on hiatus for a year because of the recession’s impact on advertising, Gooch says.

Before it went dark, each issue of The Book included in its high-gloss pages a two-page photo feature, with pictures credited to Gooch herself, called “Comment/No Comment.”

On the Comment page were photos of unidentified shoppers, beachgoers and the like, displaying fashion sense that Gooch apparently approved of, though there was no accompanying text: just photos of women, usually, in fitted skirts, adorable prints or stylish hats.

On the No Comment page were unmistakably unflattering pictures of women in too-tight pants, undersized bathing suits, or with their plumber’s smiles showing.

What the pictures had in common was that they appeared to have been taken from a distance without the subjects’ knowledge. Overwhelmingly, they also focused on tuchases.

We’re talking a double truck of dainty derrieres, bulging backsides and flappity mud flaps.

Prior to Gooch’s formal announcement last night, redbankgreen finagled a short sit-down with her. With one of her handlers impatiently urging us to stick to questions about her campaign, we asked Gooch whether she regretted taking and publishing the photos.

“I don’t think I did anything that was hurtful,” she said. “It was supposed to be light and fun.”

She said she had appeared in the No Comment page herself, face-down after a bumpy ride in a fighter jet, and once published a shot of her own sister’s butt, though she didn’t say which page that one ran on.

“Sometimes you just have to give people a break and have some fun,” Gooch said.

We couldn’t agree more.

She was told she could stay if she bought a $1 50/50 ticket. She's too cheap to pay $1 to benefit the fair and it's sponsors, and this is who you want in Washington working for you?

Ok I am an Anna supporter but I find Marks story hard to believe.

More likely they just do not want overt campaigning at the fair.

Lets keep it real

Oh man, this just gets better and better.

The most clueless, inept campaign team $80,000 can buy.

Anna's ragtag bunch of tea party volunteers are slaughtering the professionals.

This is just too damn funny.

@Bayshore Bob:

It's true. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true nonetheless.

@Bob - It wasn't just the campaigning, I was there towards the end with Anna Little, and one of the staff members that knows Anna came up and told us. Several staffmembers saw us talking with people and distributing literature, and didn't say anything to us - so apparently it wasn't just the campaigning. that was the problem.

I guess I wasn't paying attention. Thank god for the app. I read the article about the primary.

I received a call a few weeks back from the Gooch campaign. They told me that Gooch was the only, yes ONLY candidate.

Now I finally am paying attention... I read the app.... checked out Littles sight. I'm with little. I am really disappointed with Gooch. She really mislead me with her phone call.

Anna you have my support!!!.

Gooch's team needs to look up the definition of Honesty.

if they knew that definition, they wouldn't be running Diane as a "conservative" Republican!..

Isn't Gooch the only candidate??? The Monmouth County Republicans website only lists her on the list of candidates.

NO, Diane is NOT the only Republican running. The only reason that the Republican Party chose her over Anna Little is because she said she was going to self-fund her campaign (she's an out of district millionairess). Anna has her beat on every issue, and Diane knows it - that's why she's refused to debate with Anna at least 3 times, 2 requests were made by Anna's campaign, and at least 1 by Tea Party groups.I think she's decided NOT to advertise on a radio station Anna is on because they wanted to do a live on-air debate forum.

Check out Anna's web site http://www.annalittleforcongress.com, and remember to vote in the primary on June 6th.

That's because they don't want you to know. They're liars, like Gooch's phone bank people.

Tell everyone you know; Diane Gooch literally has nothing going for her as a candidate. Nothing, and that includes money because toe-to-toe it won't matter with Pallone. The only way to beat Frank is on the issues and Diane hasn't got the foggiest idea what she's talking about...about anything.

Again, tell everyone you know. Call your friends. Talk to people at the deli. Gooch and the Republicans in Monmouth are lying through their teeth because that's the only way they can win.

Anna's gonna crush her on the 8th.

Two local Tea Party groups (Bayshore/Jersey Shore) have extended several offers each to Ms. Gooch's camp. Most were just totally ignored and one or two were responded "No Thanks". I can't say it was an error on her part because she could have had a difficult time. We would quickly see through BS spin. Usually we let the candidates speak for 5 or 10 minutes but leave the bulk of the time for questions from the crowd. We prefer this unrehearsed method. The candidate themselves selects a person to ask a question.
Ms. Little on the other hand in the early stages of the campaign responded with confidence and ease. There were at least two other candidates in the race at the time (Bovina/Wright. She earned her position in front of the rank and file. Hence her Tea Party support.

Anna Little has more solid longstanding Republican roots then Dianne Gooch.
