LENNY'S OUT!

Democratic Candidate for Freeholder Leonard Inzerillo today announced that he is bowing out of the 2006 election.

The county chairman, Victor V. Scudiery, previously had expressed some concern over Inzerillo's candidacy weeks ago in light of a few ELEC discrepancies involving Inzerillo's 2003 Assembly run and his 2005 Assembly Exploratory Committee.

"The chairman and I have mutually arrived at the decision that it is best for now, in the interest of everyone concerned, for me to withdraw from this year's county race," Inzerillo said. "I do want to serve the residents of Monmouth County and I fully intend to do so in the future in elected office."

"Reports have been filed and accepted by the state Election Law Enforcement Commission. With the tensions going on Lenny and I decided he will step aside for now. It is his choice, though, and he is not being forced out in any way," Scudiery said. "This was a minor clerical error with ELEC and that is all."

Scudiery said even professionals these days are not in full command of these very complex ELEC laws.

"It was not Lenny's intention to do anything wrong," Scudiery said. "He is still an incredibly important part of this party and a very viable part of its future."

Inzerillo said he supports the chairman, the party and its candidates for 2006. "This is the right organization for residents in this county to trust," Inzerillo said. "I know that Democratic leadership in this county will make a difference between weak and strong leadership in Monmouth."

The Monmouth County Democratic Executive Committee will, according to Scudiery, announce its schedule for electing a new candidate within seven days.

Among the candidates being mentioned to replace Inzerillo are Ocean Township Committeeman Christopher Siciliano, Howell Democrat and former Freeholder candidate Steve Morlino, Belmar Mayor Kenneth Pringle, Atlantic Highlands Mayor Peter Donoghue, Former Highlands Councilwoman Rebecca Kane, and Wall Township Democrat Butch Neuhaus.

Courier Publisher Jim Purcell is not a candidate.

"Scudiery said. 'This was a minor clerical error with ELEC and that is all.'"
It's always a minor clerical error. So was Vic's 4th quarter ELEC report for the County Org.
"Inzerillo said. 'I know that Democratic leadership in this county will make a difference between weak and strong leadership in Monmouth.'"
Well, as strong as Norcross and Lesniak will let them be.

Well, I guess Lenny's going away.

Pardon, Mr. President:

It's Republican Joe DiBella that works for Norcross. It's Norcross lieutenant John Lynch who has fingers inside YOUR party and NOT the mainstream county Democrats.

I beg to differ.

Norcross and Lynch are rivals - of course, in the sense that the Sunni and Shi'a are rivals. Monmouth County is a battleground in that rivalry, with the Lynch forces currently on the outs with the County Dem Organization.
Joe Roberts (No, not his "state pac") contributed large sums to the County Dems; he is a Norcross lieutenant.
And the Union County (Ray Lesniak) connection to the Monmouth Dems is well known.

Point of order, Mr. President:

Lynch and Norcross are NOT rivals. Mr. Lynch is a Norcross underling.

I do not know what the Lesniak situatyion is for sure, so I won't try and say otherwise.

The same goes for Roberts. But I have not seen or heard of a direct Roberts-Norcross tie (though I cannot be for sure).

Frankly, there are more Norcross ties with the county GOP than the county Dems.

How about Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider, Neptune native Dorothy Argyros, former Keansburg Mayor Mike Minervini, Aberdeen Committeeman Tom Perry, former Howell Mayor Tim Konopka, former Holmdel Committeeman Tony Orsini, veteran Upper Freehold Democrat Joe Sarafin, Wall resident Gary Faraci or Howell Democrat Stanley Marciniak?

Mr. President:

You said: "How about Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider,"

I say: A Lynch Democrat along with your Republican Chairman Gio (A Lynch Republican)

You said: "Neptune native Dorothy Argyros,"

I say: Never heard of her.

You said: "former Keansburg Mayor Mike Minervini,"

I say: "No one campaigned harder against him or his slate than I and he IS a Lynch REPUBLICAN now after a hiatus as a Lynch Democrat."

You said: "Aberdeen Committeeman Tom Perry,"

I say: A good guy not owned by ANYONE.

You said: "former Howell Mayor Tim Konopka,"

I say: Considering I helped the guy gain office as part a Republican proxy fight the first time, I KNOW he betrayed EVERY ONE of the things he said he woudl uphold and the confidence of EVERYONE who supported him.

You said: "former Holmdel Committeeman Tony Orsini,"

I say: Who?

You said: "veteran Upper Freehold Democrat Joe Sarafin, Wall resident Gary Faraci"

I say: Don't know them.

You said: "or Howell Democrat Stanley Marciniak?"

I say: I had known Stan Marciniak between 1993-1997 and I doubt VERY SERIOUSLY if he is owned by anyone other than the conservationist folks of Howell Township.

Mr. President,

Answered on your blog. It's late and I do not have the time to chew my cabbage twice.

I don't know a thing, Mr. Secretary. He ran a couple of years ago. Heard anything about him as a possible?

A Republican? Really. Where do you get your information? Details, Jim, details!
