Here's a tip

J. Gregory has made a career of keeping his eyes open and looking for tips.

Well J. Gregory, now that you've embarked on your new career in politics, here's a tip for you:

DON'T EMBELLISH THE FACTS. Not even the Little ones.

In the press release announcing his candidacy, Mr. Gibadlo states that "He has resided in Middletown for the past 30 years..."

If that is the case, what was he doing working in Los Angeles, California in 1998, eight years ago. Maybe he was telecommuting. Director of Sales and Marketing for a hotel telecommuting from the opposite coast? Forgive my skepticism.

As recently as a "month or so ago" according to the receptionist at Emerson Place, J. Gregory was working 152 miles from Middletown in the Catskills. I suppose a 5 hour round trip commute is possible, but I wonder.

JGG, while you're out making the rounds with Barbara to "find out what the issues are" make sure you keep your facts straight. You're not the only one "keeping your eyes open."

Well, obviously, he was simply looking for out of county campaign donors LOL.
Seriously, would he even be able to make the Freeholder meetings? Would he even be present to hear the stentorian voice of Jim Gray, the genial Clerk of the Board?* I mean, he says he's retired, but if he's embellished his residency he could embellish anything.

This is going to be fun!

*NO, because he's going to LOSE!

Do you think? Winning by one vote in February was fun. Responding to the terrorist comments was fun. There's got to be a challenge in the game.

This is too easy.

We better slow down Abe, Vic might call on J. Gregory to withdraw. They can still switch horses again before September 20.

Darn, I just gave them another good idea

If that happens, it will be our fault :-)

Just imagine the possibilities...

Adam's been worried that the DEMS would get a bounce and come out on the offensive with the new candidate. I figured I'd throw of few blocks and tackles and throw the other side off their game. Unger gone. Jason gone. JGG on the defensive rather than the offensive. Round one Seward.

Adam still hasn't figured out what an asset he has available with Abe and me.

Downtowner said...

Well, with Abe Lincoln and William Seward on his side, I guess that means two more old rich guys on their side. That's nothing new to the GOP : )

He's a smart guy. He will.

sorry jackie, that's not the question.

anymore tips? :-)

sorry jackie, that's not the question.

But, that information does raise other questions!

a lot of people in the area do business in other states or even other countries, i.e. take a couple months running a project in another area. (hence the upsurge of Extended Stay Americas)

my father used to go overseas a month at a time on projects, as would a number of other folks i know in this area. doesn't mean they don't live here or keep up to date on the issues affecting Monmouth.

JGG has owned a residence in Monmouth for over 30 years and has spent the majority of his time here. he's a successful businessman who has run projects across the country. this is a problem how?

i mean, i'm all for debate of legitimate issues but i'm not seeing anything real here.

GUIDE TO TIPPING
By Daryn Eller

Hotels

If it seems as if you have to shell out tips left and right, that's because you do. Figure 15 to 20 percent for the taxi or limo driver, $1 a bag for the bellhop, and $1 for the doorman who hails your cab or fetches your car. Room-service deliveries rate 15 to 20 percent of the bill, and the housekeeper gets $2 a day. As for the concierge, "You might tip $5 for a dinner reservation, $20 for theater tickets," suggests Sara-ann Kasner, president of the National Concierge Association. "But if someone goes the extra mile—getting you into a popular restaurant at the last minute or obtaining hard-to-get theater tickets—you can tip upwards of $25."

Gratuity Advice for the Holidays
Nanny: A week's salary plus a small gift from your child.
Babysitter: An evening's pay plus a gift from your child.
Newspaper carrier: $5 to $15.
Mail carrier: Postal workers can accept gifts worth up to $20.
Housekeeper: A week's salary.
Garbage collectors: $10 to $20 each.
Doorman: $25 to $100.
Super: $30 to $100.
Elevator operator: $20 to $50.
Personal trainer: Price of one session.
Parking-garage attendant: One third of monthly bill.
Dog walker: A week's salary.
Hairdresser: $25 to $100.
Manicurist: $10 to $50.

So what would you tip a Democrat Freeholder???

Art Gallagher said...

Jackie,

This is not about where he lived. Its about EMBELLISHING THE FACTS. If JGG has an explanation, let's hear it from him or his spokes person.

In his press realease he said:

He has resided in Middletown for the past 30 years with his wife.

We know that in 1998 he worked in Los Angeles. I found a link yesterday that showed he worked in Washington, DC in 1999.

In 2002 he was back working on NYC, for NYC and Company, but then he took a job in the Catskills for Emerson Management, and he was employed there until very recently. Now he is apparently unemployed.

Jackie, you say he's a successful businessman. Maybe he is, but it looks to me that he has had a hard time holding a job since he left Hilton after twenty one years. Maybe he wants to be a Freeholder because he needs a job.

Jackie, you tell us that his family has lived in Middletown for quite some time. I don't doubt it. But how did Greg live there "for thirty years with his wife" if he was working in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and the Catskills?

These are legitimate questions. Greg should answer them.

As far as debating legitimate issues, I imagine Anna Little and Andrew Lucas would be happy to debate them as soon as Gregory and Barbara finish making the rounds and finding out what the issues are.

I'm all for debate on JGG (who is this guy???), but can Abe and Will stop patting themselves on the back? For bloggers to take credit for GOP victories in Monmouth is somewhat deceiving since the Dems are more responsible than anyone.

Just a thought

can Abe and Will stop patting themselves on the back?

I need a back rub. Has anyone seen Lisa?

Honest Abe said...

Purcell thinks Lisa's a dude.

Downtowner said...

It's not "Lisa," it's "Marvin." Sure there's a few issues there, but the GOP is a big tent, right guys? ; )

Art Gallagher said...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
