He's...

NUTS!!!!

02/13/2007

On December 22nd of 1944, General Anthony McCauliffe and the 101st Airborne were surrounded by German forces in the city of Bastogne. They called for his surrender. He replied with one word: “Nuts!”

On Sunday, the press used a scathing editorial to launch a poll designed to embarrass our candidate selection process. They lost on day one. So they extended it. They lost on day two, by more. They will undoubtedly launch more slanted polls, and more negative articles. So the Asbury Park Press is not in favor of the Monmouth County Republican party. The sun will rise tomorrow.

This is not about who has the best plan for selecting candidates. This is about the press looking to assert itself in Republican Party politics. The issue of whether we will select candidates via screening was decided in June of 2006. Vulnerability assessments were never in question, and every true Republican knew this is the right thing to do.

The press will continue the attacks on our screening committee process because they seek to undermine our organization, and hand pick candidates for our county party’s line. They have strung together multiple negative articles. They have used willing accomplices to leak documents and bring the process into question. They have set a false litmus test on our candidates while Democrats are allowed to use any process they choose.

They will continue to attack, and I fear that some of our own party will supply them with ammunition.

But understand that I will not surrender this party’s right to govern itself. Nuts.

Please enjoy the updated poll results:

Do you think it's proper that candidates undergo detailed background checks at their own expense in order to be considered to run for public office?

Yes 72.6%
No 27.4%

Total votes: 1719

OK... I see our chairman's problem now. He thinks he is a General. A leader yes, a General NO. He was elected by the MCR Committee. He was voted in to be our representative at the top of the organization. His job was to facilitate and to manage the organization. We did not put him there to be a "General".

I asked a friend (A republican) from out of state to review our MRC web site this past week and let me know what he thought of our chairman. His comments were "Is this guy NUTS? How can he expect the rank-and-file republicans to feel motivated when the chairman is acting like a dictator?"

I don't know what the chairman is up to. The time for a solution is rapidly expiring. He is making himself a liability for the organization. If this continues, we will loose everything. He may try to blame others, but a LEADER takes responsibility for his actions. Adam holds the key, no one else does.

It seems that Adam really took the bait on this one.

"Ronald Reagan" has some interesting commentary regarding online polls on his blog. I just put a link out front.

Curious about this poll myself, I emailed an editor at the APP yesterday with some questions. I was interested in weather or not the level of activity was unusual and if Puharic might have a campaign going.

The editor responded:

"The 1,300 responses we have had to this poll so far isn't unusual. Some topics get far more. I'm not particularly surprised by the results, given the wording of the question. "

It seems to me that the APP set Puharic up and he took the bait, hook, line and sinker.

Adam is doing what I would have done. Keel haul em all. When I was a captain of a ship, I kept all my men in line through intimidation, threats and a beating now and again. I was able to keep control and keep the ship on course.

Adam is the captain of this ship. NO ONE SHOULD QUESTION HIM!!! IF THEY DO, FEED THEM TO THE SHARKS!!!

A brave and able officer, he was handicapped in dealing with men by his difficult temper.
