I stopped the sheriff, and I used to be his deputy
I stopped the sheriff, and I used to be his deputy.
All around the County’s towns
They’re trying to take me down
They say I violated federal law
some old law with a name of “Hatch.”
Some dumb law with a name of “Hatch.”
Good Republicans always hated me
For what I do not know
Every time that I issue a decree
They say this is unAmerican
They say this is unAmerican.
I say
I stopped the sheriff, though I used to be his deputy
I stopped the sheriff, and I also stopped the freeholder
I don’t have to follow the law
‘Cause I’m a powerful guy
But these rank and file party members
are trying to make me frown
So I shut, shut their candidates down
I say
I stopped the sheriff, and I also stopped the freeholder
I stopped the sheriff, and I also stopped the freeholder
The blogs are trying to get the better of me
But my goons protect me you see
Every day that I stay in power
Their plans (and the party) goes sour
Their plans (and the party) goes sour
But I say
I stopped the sheriff, though I used to be his deputy
I stopped the sheriff, and I’ll do it to the whole party.

This is really good. LOL!
Does Lightshines realize that this is a "Rasta" Reggae song? Bob Marley and all.
One more "thank you" I'd like to add.
Thanks to the host of http://www.manikus.com/bobmarley for his terrific compilation of Bob Marley midis.
In response to Abe's post,
"Does Lightshines realize that this is a "Rasta" Reggae song? Bob Marley and all.",
I don't know whether or not Lightshines is aware that this "light shine" (parody) may relate to the pseudo Internet personality you refer to. I doubt it.
I am sure of this, though;
Bob Marley would roll over in his grave to be mentioned in the same breath as that other individual you refer to.

He most certainly would.
