12th district Assembly candidate Tom Gilmour's withdrawal letter is sent out "Wireside" fashion by someone named
John C. Raue, Political Director of the Monmouth GOP. The
APP has an article this morning about the GOP scramble to replace Sheriff Oxley. Reporter Bob Jordan quotes Middletown Chairman Peter Carton and Freehold Township Chairman Tom Aspostle, with no mention of Puharic.
One insider who's known Adam for years says his disappearing act is no surprise. When things go bad for Adam he tends to go under the radar and stop taking phone calls.
Puharic did get his name in the paper today though. The APP
editorial board joined the growing chorus calling for Adam to resign.
Speaking of growing choruses, attendees of Saturday's screening committee meeting, the one where Sheriff Oxley dropped his bombshell withdrawal, are beginning to sing. And the tune is not in harmony with the song Wall Chairman Bob McKenna and Carton spun in yesterday's APP. One screening committee member, an elected official up for re-election this year, reportedly demanded a time table for Adam's resignation. The people in the room maybe have been "supportive" of Adam, but personally, not as Chairman.
Even political outsiders have joined the chorus of wondering when Adam will resign. The situation was reportedly a topic of conversation last evening at a meeting of the Puharics' charity.
Meanwhile, after 72 hours, 70% of the respondents in the first ever Reagan/Seward poll favor Adam resigning.
NOTE: Poll results are not scientific and reflect the opinions of only those users who chose to participate. Adam Puharic believes in the veracity of online polls.

Who are the people that want to take over as chairman and what are their goals?
It's called selfishness. There is no better word for it. Adam knows he can't function as County Chairman, but he refuses to step down. Adam knows that the press is going to make him the center of attention all year, making it almost impossible for our candidates to be heard, but he refuses to step down. Adam knows that qualified candidates won't run because he's the chairman, but he refuses to step down. Adam knows he is damaging the chance of local Republicans to win their seats, but he refuses to step down. Adam has put his own ego ahead of the good of the party. I don't want to hear that "Adam is a nice guy." He is willing to jeopardize the entire party for his own interests. That's not a "nice guy". That's a self-centered bore. Adam is proving who he really is by refusing to resign. The irony is that the longer he remains as chairman, the clearer it is that he should never have been elected to that position in the first place. Adam will be forever remembered as the man who singlehandedly turned Monmouth County over to the Democrats. If the feds fire him this week, it is well-earned.
Everyone knows you are all Democrats. You have been exposed as frauds.
Adam is staying the more you write your hate speech about him only makes him stronger. Real Republican see your agenda.
Thanks for your response, Adam.
Adam would like you to know:
Thanks to the Drifters – We’ll soon be “On Broadway”
They say the Press’ lights are bright
in Freehold
They say they’re laying all my faults out there
But when I’m walking down Main Street
and I control who gets a seat
The catcalls rub right off and I don’t care
They say that I’m no good for the GOP
in Freehold
But I’m still here - I know that gives them the blues
Cause I already lost one seat
And in November we’ll be beat
But even though we lose, I’ll still be here
I can’t raise funds, so what, I never could
I can’t unite, or do anything I should
But I’ve got power, the party be damn’d
Billy’s got my back, the party’s Barham’d
And I won’t quit til the party’s dead
in Freehold
My ego’s all that matters to me
I never cared for the GOP you see
And Billy’s got my back as we fold
in Freehold
Come on, just leave poor Adam alone. He's doing ok. It's Anna Little that's crazy, not Adam.
Adam, if you want to be left alone, there is a simple way. Resign. Move on with your private life. No one will ever think of you again.
What was the purpose of posting Gilmour's letter? Isn't this the guy who bragged around the county that Puharic personally asked him to run?
