Arthur Z. Kamin has an interesting OpEd piece about the naming of buidlings at Brookdale Commuity College in today's APP.
Kamin wants Larrison Hall renamed for Former Freeholder John Irwin. He doesn't give much information on why Irwin, but gives the expected and a little more on why not Larrison. He takes a good shot at the Larrison/Barham/Harvey/Birdsall relationships, which was probably the point of his piece.
After reading the piece, I'm left wondering 1) Why isn't it called Birdsall Community College, and 2) Did Rob Clifton ever see a fence he didn't want to sit on.

Art Kamin is a angry tool that often overshoots his mark.
The greater message of changing the name would be to declare suspects guilty until proven innocent.
That is not the American way.
3) Where's Carton Hall?
I pioneered actually the idea of changeing Larrison Hall back in March 2006. I wrote htat it should be named after freeholder Ray Kramer as Kramer Hall. This is how I explained it then:
"Why Kramer Hall? Why? Because Ray Kramer was the best freeholder in the history of Monmouth county! He was the mayor of Asbury and a freeholder. The other freeholders respected his leadership so much that they made him the Freeholder director.
As a freeholder Ray Kramer always stood for change. Frenklin Delano Roosevelt was always his role model in government. Did you know he even had a column in a county News letter called Director Kramer's Fireside Chat?
I feel he should be honored somehow and re-naming our Larrison Hall after Ray Kramer is appropriate!"
What about Christie Hall?
Where's Carton Hall?
Just past Monty Hall...making a deal.
Tobin Hall, well deserved.
