Judith Cambria writes on NJ Voices:
NJEA said, "We have concluded that it is filled with SIGNIFICANT, NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES for ALL of New Jersey's school districts". If the NJEA doesn't like it, there must be something good about it. The Education Law Center, who gave us the Abbott districts also doesn't like it. This plan must be pretty good after all! Just kidding. Increasing spending $530 million right off the bat, with another $800 million to come, with no funding and a $3billion "structural deficit" will not improve education and will only ensure "asset monetization" and huge toll increases.
This issue is far to important to be rushed through the legislature without a complete vetting. The legislature should follow Corzine's lead, and take a Caribbean vacation for the rest of the year.
