See that number over there to the right, under my picture? Today it says 6, last week it was 4, the week before that is was 2, and the week before that is was 18. Not that I'm really paying any attention to it.
Since June of this year, BlognetnewsNJ has published a blog influence index every week, ranking the top 20 most influential blogs in New Jersey. MoreMonmouthMusings has been in the top 20 for all but 2 or 3 of those weeks, usually in the top 10. The recognition is nice. Since I don't sell advertising (yet?), feedback, reactions, and the hope of influencing policy are a big part of the "payoff" for writing this blog. I appreciate the ranking, and I appreciate that almost two years into writing this blog, readership and recognition keeps growing.
Here comes the big but:
There are several blogs that I greatly admire. That this blog is ranked higher than them in any given week amuses me and makes me question the validity of the rankings. Hey, I'll take the kudos, but if you think this blog is good, there are three I recommend you check out:
In the Lobby
Enlighten New Jersey
Bob Ingle
Each of these bloggers are insightful, honest and ahead of the curve. They do their homework and their analysis is right on the money, especially when it comes to New Jersey politicians wasting your money.
Read them everyday, but make sure you come back.

We must do something about boosting our ranking. Just kidding. It is what it is.
But it is great to have a high ranking NJ blogger give us a plug.
Thanks.
I don't have any rankings but I sometimes like spankings.
Art,
We could not have said it better. We have never been able to figure out how blognetnews.com figures out their ratings, but we do appreciate the plug from such a noteworthy blog as yours.
Gratefully,
www.inthelobby.net
One way to get a higher ranking is to get more unique visitors.
CWA had 2900 unique visitors yesterday with about 6000 hits.
Maybe that's why were #1.
