What's up with the convention?

So far the convention to select a new GOP chairman is still scheduled to take place at the Lincroft Inn.

The Lincroft Inn is currently under a major renovation and has a maximum capacity of 125 people. The Monmouth GOP County Committee has roughly 800 seats. Historically, over 400 show up for these conventions.

Maybe we can gather in the parking lot. "Everyone in favor of Joe Oxley honk!"

This could be fun....kind of like the old clown cars...how many republicans can you fit in a phone booth type of convention. Not that I want to compare clowns to republicans...that would be a disservice to the clown profession.

I know, that was mean, but hey, its Friday and I'm feelin' spunky.

Rick,

Just because Barry took a week off, you have to bring your spunk over here?

Please Rick, be sure to vote for Lautenberg on Tuesday.

Well then, since Barry's on vacation and in the spirit of Barry Goldwater's Friday Fun Column...here's a little humor for you:

Early one morning during the Presidential Campaign, John McCain heard a knock on his front door. He opened the door to find a high-school-age girl wearing a "Vote for McCain" t-shirt.

"I saw you on TV last night, debating with the other candidates," she said.

McCain nodded. "The other candidates say I'm too old," he said. "They say I'm losing my memory and that I won't be able to remember the names of foreign leaders if I'm elected. But I'm going to prove them wrong."

"Good," said the girl.

"Now tell me, young lady," said McCain, "what is your name?"

The girl looked confused. "It's ME, Grandpa."

Oh come on Rick, next Tuesday, please vote for the guy that is 13 years older than McCain.
