The Red Bank Mayor and Council have selected Jim Giannell to fill the remainder of the council term that was vacated by John Curley's resignation.
Democratic Mayor Pat Menna said Giannell was chosen over John Tyler, Jr who is the GOP candidate for the seat in November, and pay to play activist Stephen Fitzpatrick because of Giannell's business acumen and GOP activism.
