Jim Purcell at the Middletown Township Committee Meeting

Jim Purcell also spoke at the Middletown Township Committee meeting this week.

He bashed Mayor Scharfenberger for the Human Rights Commission having an unnoticed "special meeting" even, though notice had been faxed to his newspaper two days before publication deadline and three days before the meeting. His newspaper, website, nor its 3 blogs mentioned the meeting.

Mr. Purcell was at the Human Rights Commission meeting. He said he received an anonymous email that the meeting would be happening. He publicly thanked the sender of the anonymous email (he's been talking to himself a lot lately I hear).

Miraculously, the Middletown Human Rights Commission meeting was the best attended ever with over 20 people present, according to the Human Rights Commission member who spoke at the Township Committee meeting and affirmed that Scharfenberger did not call the meeting.

Among those present at the "unnoticed" Human Rights Commission meeting were Lorenzo Dangler, president of the Greater Long Branch NAACP, and the leaders of the Red Bank and Bayshore NAACPs. They must of been on the same anonymous email list.

Purcell's boss knew about the Human Rights Commission meeting. He told me about it to my face at a fund raiser, while it was happening.

For his feigned outrage over transparency in government, for his duplicity in rallying his political supporters to attend a public meeting while withholding the information about that meeting from the public, and for setting up the set up, Jim Purcell is the sole recipient of this week's OBIE AWARD.

I wonder if Mellissa Gaffney will post the video of Jim Purcell's remarks to the Middletown Township Committee.

I can’t believe (well maybe I can because of who they are and what they do) that the Middletown Democrats and/or the Courier are making this a partisan issue:

Caliendo: “it is not Democrats talking about this race issue. This issue was created by Mr. Gallagher and some Republican bloggers, many of whom are leaders in his party. Is this where the new Republican Party is going in Monmouth, back to the time before relations between the races improved? Is this the plan that Republicans have for Monmouth County?

Schwebel: “And his young Republicans follow along and say the same thing.” Schwebel said the issue has certainly crossed party lines in Monmouth County, and it is clear which party is willing to learn about race in a constructive manner and come together.”

M-Town Mike has made many comments on his blog and commenting on other people’s blogs.

Alyssa from the Courier: Race discussion continues, GOP leaders still mute. “Republicans on the Middletown Committee did not return a call for comment by press time.”

The use of the N-word is not endorsed by any party. To imply that since you, Art, made the comments you did, and you are Republican, that all Republican officials now need to now comment on this issue … or that entire party is racist … it silly. This would be like saying (if your comments did have racist intention or overtones)... hey, Art is from NJ – are all New Jerseyans racist? Shouldn’t every NJ official comment? Hey, Bill Clinton committed adultery while President of the US. Should all Dem’s have to make comments speaking out against adultery? Is it an adulterous party? This is stupid.

The Democrats ... on the local and National Level ... are the ones making race an issue ... for political gain / expediency.

On the local level ... the Middletown Dem’s philosophy is to Bash any Republican … try to paint them as corrupt, stupid, incompetent, closed minded, and/or now racist(?).

By the way, in response to no notice going to the Courier ... it is funny that is seems like everyone from the Courier … and every Democrat knew about it. A fifth grader can see that this was another Dem "set-up" attempt.

Jim Purcell was a bad man five years ago; A bad man and a jerk three years ago; A bad man, a jerk and a really bad lier today.

The sun will set this evening, the wind will blow out of the west and Jim Purcell will continue with his hysterics.
