Show me where the Democrats do it better than the Republicans do it in Monmouth and Middletown

This linked post from June 15 is the reason Jim Purcell pulled the MoreMonmouthMusings column from The Courier Caliendo Crier. Read it and the comments.

The July 17 N-word post was the excuse he used to attempt to smear me, paint the GOP as racist and make this blog a campaign issue. His attempts didn't work and won't work.

It was in the June 15 post that Purcell realized I was not his ally in his obsession to destroy the Middletown and Monmouth GOP, and that he had no argument to counter my assertions that the GOP, while not perfect, is doing a better job in Monmouth County and in Middletown Township than Democrats are doing anywhere else. So long as I was writing critically of Monmouth Republicans, Purcell tolerated my bashing Trenton Democrats. Purcell doesn't follow what happens in Trenton.

Once the Monmouth GOP righted itself and I dared say some nice things about the Middletown GOP and criticise Democrats, I had to be neutralized or silenced.

The video below is brought to you as a publc service. Book mark this post and come back to it when ever you are tempted to read The Courier Caliendo Crier or one of its affiliated blogs.

Love the UTube video. Still laughing. Business must really be bad for the Courier. They use their blogs with little hits, like read the next issue of the Courier for more info. PLEASE!

Now that my dog is house-broken I don't need the Courier anymore.

When you actually live in Middletown Township and you deal with the over budget Arts Center, politicians who distort the truth about revaluations and never own up, township committeemen involved in harassement suits and Big Rig scandals,it would be appropriate for you to keep your opinions on how things operate here to yourself. This town has become a disgrace and current republican candidates for the committee leave a great deal to be desired..... "HOT AIR and FALSEHOODS aplenty !!!. Yes. I know you run a businesss in the bayshore area but you LIVE in Highlands where there's integrity at the helm.Bipartisn government is healthy

That's all very interesting Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, but it still doesn't answer my challenge...Show me where are Democrats doing it better. Middlesex? Bergen, Passaic,Hudson or Essex? I don't think so.

On a municipal level for a large town.. Woodbridge, Paramus, Bloomfield? Nope.

The Arts Center, harassment suits and Bid Rig are old news. If that is the best the Middletown Dems have to offer Caliendo will be crying again in November.

I'm all for divided government, but it will take some convincing, like showing me where Democrats are doing better, before I'd vote to give them control of anything.

Yes, I live in Highlands and I'm proud of what is happening there. I used to live in Middletown, own a business and property there. I'm proud of what's happening here too.

I realize The Caliendo Courier hasn't quite cornered the market on HOT AIR and FALSEHOODS, but they are almost there.

SOUR GRAPES, the addition of two democrats has given more of the people a voice in government in MIDDLETOWN.We previously had unchallenged government in Middletown and we've have had a multitude of lawsuits because integrity at the helm is compromised.More to come if the mayor continues on the path about the non-existent problem with the Latinos. He's grandstanding !!! Since I live here, not in any of the communities you mention.please tell me what's so good about republican dominated government here. What does the Courier have to do with any of this. Look at what the addition of Barbara Mc Morrow ,D,has done for the freeholder board. ..at long last. a public sevant....not a "self servant"...Art, it's time to stop mud slinging or are you one of the lousy republican party members with nothing else to offer???

Art Gallagher said...

Mud sling? That would be what you are doing.

All I am asking is for someone to tell me where Democrats are doing a better job than Republicans are doing in Monmouth or Middletown.

I getting a bunch of noise, but no answer to the question.

Melissa Lauren said...

It's all very subjective, if you ask me.

And every time someone tries to give you an answer, Art, you just knock 'em down.

So really, you're asking a question you don't WANT an answer to because you're trying to make a partisan point. Which is fine.

The point missed, in my opinion, is that some people don't agree the Republicans are "doing it better." Nor could we see where the Dems are "doing it better," at the moment, considering the majorities on most Monmouth administrations (including Middletown) are REPUBLICAN.

Toot the horn some more. You wanted noise, not answers.

Art Gallagher said...

Quite the contrary Melissa. No one has yet to offer an answer. I'm not knocking an any answers down, I'm just pointing out that what I'm getting are not answers.

No one, except you, has said, "Democrats are doing it better in __________, than Republicans are doing it in Monmouth and Middletown.

I'm not limiting it to Monmouth or Middletown, obviously. You are missing the point, or you just don't like my point.

Your answer in the other thread is cleary subjective. The answer I'm looking for, and my hypothesis that there isn't any place in NJ, is far less subjective. It can be measure by tax rates, bond ratings, qualitiy of life measures like crime statistics and many others.

Thanks for trying.

Melissa Lauren said...

Maybe you should start measuring, since it interests you so much, and stop asking questions you know the answer to.

I think it's an exercise in humanity that you, along with many others, clearly miss entirely. Discussion and debate is more than being the one with the "power of conversation." You have to do so much more.

But thanks for trying.

You're so cute when you get snarky.
