The Diplomagate scandal at the Freehold Regional High School District is not blowing over.
On the contrary, the Asbury Park Press reports that last night's Board meeting was emotionally charged and ended with a resident being hospitalized.
The injured resident, Mark Rosenwald, alleges that he was assaulted by a school security guard. Board member Christopher Placitella alleged that Rosenwald caused his own injuries.

This is the type of Board that gives all School Boards a bad name.
There are some Boards that are so enthralled by their superintendent that they fail to exercise the proper oversight. Combine this with the fact that there are a few superintendants with a bad case of arrogance and you wind up with situations like you have in Freehold Regional.
The Board should have early on told Mr. Wasser to go out and apologize for a lack of judgment , offer to return the tuition and ask forgiveness OR start thinking about his next career move.
Not only has their lack of leadership distracted the district from its primary mission of educating the children but it has given a black eye to Board of ed's in general.
Don't think the enemies of community controlled education won't use this against us down the road.

member of the Tinton Falls Board of Education.
