Thank you for those reminders of who was in charge when this crisis began, a Democratically controlled Congress.
How anyone can vote for a Democrat in the Nov. election mystifies me!

Actually, to steal Rick's thunder:
Back in 2003 the Congress was controlled by Republicans but Democrats did try and stop the fannie and freddie reforms and Republicans probably didn't have enough votes on their side because of the hardcore conservatives who believe in anti-regulation at all times.
Congress did not become Democrat controlled until 2006.
