The upcoming election has engaged the nation as few have in our history. As important as the race for the presidency is to the country's future, I want to remind you of the importance of our local election to Middletown. On November 4, there are two seats open for the Township Committee. I am proudly supporting Deputy Mayor Pam Brightbill and Planning Board member Tony Fiore for those two seats. Deputy Mayor Brightbill has been a phenomenal public servant in her first term on the township committee. Her knowledge of the issues, her tireless efforts in carrying out her duties, and her ability to come up with creative solutions to the many challenges we face has made her a true asset and an irreplaceable assistant in running the town on a day to day basis. Tony Fiore brings a long history of public service, first as a volunteer firefighter, recreation and human relations commissioner and most recently, as a member of the Middletown Planning Board. His record of protecting the town from overdevelopment and protecting open space is unmatched. Pam and Tony's opponents, on the other hand, bring a record of astonishingly high tax increases, vocal support for high density development through low-income housing, serious ethics problems and support for the destructive policies of Governor Corzine and the Democrat majority in Trenton. The Middletown Democrats are well-funded from entities far outside the township including Trenton, Camden, along with the state union bosses - entities who look upon Middletown as a potential foothold for their interests, rather than the home for our families that we all know and love.
During my time in office, it has been a pleasure to have gotten to meet and know thousands of the residents in our town. I know what you expect from your elected officials and I know the direction that you want for our town. You have told me that you want honesty, efficiency and a 110% effort in looking out for the interests of Middletown, even in the face of immense pressure from outside special interests. Pam and Tony are the embodiment of those qualities and know what it takes to lower taxes, protect our open space and most important, relentlessly fight the destructive policies of Trenton and keep Middletown one of the top 100 places to live in the country.
I ask you to talk to your friends and neighbors and impress on them the importance of good government in Middletown and to achieve that goal, to elect Pam Brightbill and Tony Fiore to the Township Committee in November.

Well said. It's frightening to think of the circus that would ensue if the Democrats of Middletown, ever the motliest of crews, took control. One need only look back to the last time they were in control. The headline of the APP summed it up best - "A House in Disorder."
I disagree with this mayor and as a citizen in Middletown for over four decades I feel entitled to an opinion also.This republican party has engaged in the dirtiest of politics. It blames everything on someone else and has failed to lead. This republican party should be ashamed of the last two or three years of their majority on the committee .. Wake up call... I am a former long time registered republican,now undeclared voter because I am sick to death of the bullshit and intimidating tactics of these rapid republican operatives!!!!
Just curious Art, what's a "rapid republican operative?" A republican operative who moves quickly?
