Thanks for what? A depression? 2 wars? Thousands killed and maimed? Gutting the constitutions? Failed response to Katrina? Oh, yeah, the old standby, keeping us safe..except of course, for those 3000+ that were killed in Trade Center during his watch. Wiretaps, torture, military tribunals, secret oil company meetings, and The Dick Cheney all add up to the lowest approval ratings for the longest stretch in Presidential history. He was a disaster all the way around. So, what are we thanking him for. He destroyed our standing in the world with the cowboy attitude.

Please, the revisionists are coming out of the woodwork already to try and save his very, very sad legacy. He just needs to fade into the sunset. Tuesday can't come soon enough for most Americans.

I guess this means you are in that 23% of hard core Republicans that think he did a great job....eh, Brownie?

Thanks for what?

Keep us safe is a good one.

How about for appointing Chris Christie U.S. Attorney of New Jersey.

"Thanks for what? A depression? 2 wars?"

I bet you thanked Clinton, although he also left you in a depression and 3 wars (Bosnia, Somalia, Kosovo). Speaking of which, any plans to bring back our troops from Bosnia and Kosovo yet?

Really Chris?...and how many thousands were maimed and killed in Bosnia? It was more of a humanitarian effort than anything else. Unlike the war for oil and misinformation. Were we in a depression in the 90's? Sorry, I didn't notice. Hey Chris, what about that surplus that was left to Dubya that evaporated within 15 minutes of his taking office? Have you seen that lately? How about that balanced budget in Clinton's last year...what happened to that? Is your memeory that short? We've had the largest deficits in our history....even before the war started to get into full swing. I don't think Art will let me go on since it may take up too much room, but I think you get my drift.

Chris, you must belong to that whopping 23% of die hard, he did the right thing, go and get him type of republicans that think Dubya did a fine, fine job.

Please.

Very impressive ambrosiajr, you have the moveon.org talking points down to a tee. First of all, if you think we are in a depression, you need to reacquaint yourself with history. The current financial crisis was begun by the subprime collapse. You know, the policy of forcing banks to lend to unqualified borrowers? The policy that Barney Franks and Chris Dodd kept in place by screaming racism whenever someone wanted to regulate it? As for Katrina, why is that Bush's fault? What about the incompetent mayor Nagin and the equally incompetent governor? It is their responsibility as the first and second responders. Guiliani handled a completely unexpected crisis w/o immediate help from the feds. Wiretaps? God Bless them. Sorry you feel so bad for terrorists who get their phones tapped. Military tribunals? Excellent! Fair, quick and just. Ask Daniel Pearl or Nick Berg if they would have preferred a similar tribunal. Two wars? Thank God he took the fight to these maniacs on THEIR Godforsaken soil. And for 9/11 you can thank your idol Bill "calling all interns" Clinton. He was the one who sat on his butt after repeated attacks and let Bin Laden plan and grow stronger while he chased Monica around the desk in the oval office. Just wait - if Obama has any sense he will govern more like Bush than you would ever care to admit, only he will have the press on his side.

wow, just keep beating the guy to a pulp til 12:01 on the 20th!!..love those gracious Dem "winners"..can't wait to see/hear all the continuing Kool Aid being spewed,as this guy: stops our tax cuts, (while continuing to lie that "95%" get a tax cut),as no one challenges him, and as he sends yet more of our money out to those who never pay any income taxes, grandfathers in all the illegals, (breaking the rest of the entire system),guts our military, lets, no, orders, babies to die after botched abortions, while treating dogs and amoebas better, sells us out to the terrorists, wastes time and money with corn-fuels that clog the buses when it's too cold, fines us for having a steak, and steals more and more of our ambition, pride, patiotism, self-determination, and liberty, as we helplessly watch the final throes of socialism come down, (as in France and England and elsewhere), chokes the life out of our remaining capitalism, then, audit, follow, regulate, probe, and tax -and- fine us all and beat us down some more if we dare protest ,(as they re-write history), until no one left remembers what personal freedoms and the USA were like!..I, for one, will be wearing black on Tuesday, and praying that 4 yrs. will be more than enough, before we wake the heck up!!..

Actually you should thank him a lot Rick.

It's because of him that Republicans have gotten trounced the past two election cycles and the party is so unpopular these days....

Honestly, there's been like a few things he did that I agreed with and liked..and the rest he just plain screwed up along with his administration.

Mainly, Katrina and the way he went into Iraq and the first few years...the surge should have been the initial strategy all along. That's good old war strategy, go in guns blazing and get the hell out quickly.

Katrina was a failure on all levels. But he wasn't very good at showing a quick response, or communicating well at all. In fact he wasn't good at communicating all together. His only good moment might have been right after the 9/11 attacks and his strong response. His best move his second term was finally seeing the light on the surge and ducking from the shoe.

Oh and I'm with Rick on torture, but that's my own personal opinion. I'm not a fan of letting that happen.

He wasn't the WORST president ever, that title belongs to one termers...but I definately have a number of major disagreements with him.

Let's not forget he let spending get out of control...

But one man can not cause the economic recession we are seeing now..it took a wholeeee lot of em.
