Interesting thing about this scam, they just amended the bill to provide "protection" to towns that choose to make their entire pension contribution, so they don't get penalized if there's a deficit in 2012. Assemblyman Schaer apparently sponsored the amendment, I'll take credit: I had a heated discussion with him about this topic on the Chamber Train to Washington. Maybe he got the idea then...
You should take credit for that because no one else was screaming about this then, and thank you for standing up and raising awareness on this issue. I hope more people and elected officials stand with you on this. We should also thank Steve Lonegan for joining you in bringing this issue to the forefront.
