Middletown GOP Tabs Massell To Challenge Short

The Middletown Republican Party has selected Steve Massell as their candidate for Township Committee. Massell is expected to challenge incumbent Democratic Committee Member Patrick Short in the November election.

Massell, 40, and his wife Emily have four children. They live in the River Plaza section of the Township. He is a realtor and a member of the Middletown Planning Board.

Short is toast, Byrnes is next.

You got that right. The bizarre, psychotic Short's fifteen minutes in Middletown will be up in November. After that he can stand on the street corner full time, wave signs and create a hazard to the drivers.

Hopefully Mr. Massell will defeat Short in as big a landslide as Brightbill and Fiore did last year. Judging from the nearly incoherent ramblings of Peppermint Patty and whatshisname since the election, Short probably won't have the class to fade away, but rather, he will join the motley crew of losers who darken the doorstep at town hall every meeting.

Isn't Massell a "Carton puppet"?

Ah, the old hapless Democrat standby. Anyone who runs on the Republican ticket is automatically a "Carton puppet." Here's a news flash - the motley crew of misfits and dregs, a.k.a. the Middletown Democrats had better come up with a new line. With your party busy destroying New Jersey and turning it into the highest taxed, biggest social program provider, biggest magnet for leeches, anti-business state in the union, this better not be the best you can do. Remember how well that message worked last year.

I remember him from South, he was a good wrestler and a nice guy.

This is exactly what local government needs. A fine, upstanding member of the community who is raising a family here and has roots in Middletown. He is one of us, not a guy looking for a judgeship, or the stooge of a developer looking to carve up the town.

Massell will be a solid candidate...born and raised in Middletown, no hidden agenda other than making the town stronger for his family and other hard working families that love the town.

Steve Massell is an excellent choice. I have known him for years. It will be great to have a true Middletown family man elected. I wish more Steve Massell's would become active in politics.

Steve Massell is one of those people who everyone can relate to. He is happily married with four wonderful kids, volunteers to serve his town and was born and raised in Middletown. I would bet that you won't see him making an ass out of himself standing on a corner waving signs during the campaign. Middletown has a real good chance to shed the loony skin that has cloaked it in silliness these last two-plus years.
