From Christie's website:
Our campaign picked up the endorsement of Former Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler. Mayor Schundler is a true leader who breathed new life into Jersey City and mobilized efforts for property tax reform.
In a statement, Mayor Schundler said “I know we need a strong conservative leader who will stand up for middleclass taxpayers, and I believe that Chris Christie will be that kind of leader. Chris will be the tough, fiscal conservative we need to cut income and business taxes, provide property tax relief and get our state’s economy back on track.”

If Chris Christie is a conservative Art Gallagher is a left wing commie.Bret Schundler you are pathetic. You blew the governors race ,you can't even get elected in your own city, and now you endorse Christie. What happened wouldn't Lonegan listen to one of your two hour non stop speaches? You finished Bret, move back to Westfield.
"Mayor Schundler breathed new life into Jersey City and mobilized a grassroots movement for property tax reform," said Christie. "As Governor, I will revive our state's commitment to revitalizing our cities, cutting our taxes and reforming our schools."
Cutting taxes eh - i wonder if he will do that in year 1 or year 2
Bret Schundler is a better conservative and a better man then Lonegan will ever be.
Brett Schundler is an unprincipled opportunist that will say whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear. To wit: He was pro-abortion before he became pro-life. He was like Judas to New Jersey gun owners. While running against McGreevey, he promised gun owners that he would support right-to-carry legislation if elected governor. When questioned in a debate, however, Schundler, ever the flip-flopper, stated that he saw no need to change New Jersey's current gun laws.
I'm glad Schundler got his butt kicked in one election after another. He lacks the character necessary to hold elective office. The fact that Schundler is now endorsing Chris Christie only makes me want to support Steve Lonegan all the more.
