The Socialist State of New Jersey is moving to ban the bikini wax. The state cosmetology and hairstyling board will meet on April 14 to decide on adopting language that specifically bans genital waxing because two women complained of getting infections from the procedure.
What is the standard of proof? How does the board know that those women who complained really got waxed at a licensed establishment before getting infected?
I'm wondering how this new ban will be enforced. Will beach badge inspectors be empowered to inspect people who appear to be sans hair down there to determine if they are shaved or waxed and issue a summons for those with no stubble? Will cameras be set up in waxing salons? Will there be undercover operatives busting salons? Will the fines make up for the lost sales tax revenue? Is shaving less likely to result in infection than waxing?
How will this impact tourism on the Jersey Shore? I guess we could make Perfect Together ads for the hirsute community. Governor Corzine would be the perfect spokesperson. Belmar Mayor Pringle's newsletter should be interesting. Business will be booming on Staten Island salons, but visitors should carry their receipt from a Staten Island waxing establishment to show the badge and down there inspectors in order to avoid the fines.

Maybe the Highlands Borough Council would like to weigh in on this very serious issue as well. As self appointed event planners and professional tourism and economic directors, they probably have certification to bikini wax too or are at least qualified by trial and error, no?
Pubic hair? The highest taxes, the highest car insurance, the highest sales tax and they're talking about pubic hair? Please tell me you're kidding. "The tax payers are revolting!" "They certainly are - they pay NO attention to personal grooming." Let me get this straight - the "right to privacy" keeps the government out of my body and allows me to kill my unborn child but permits the board of cosmetology into my pants to control the landscaping. What about all the back room waxings that will certainly take place if they outlaw the stripping of bikini lines? What about a woman's right to choose? Where does manscaping fit in?
On one hand, if they're distracted by big issues like the bikini wax, perhaps they won't have time to further screw up things like the budget. On the other, the second amendment guarantees us the the right to bare ummms, doesn't it?
Shhhh, don't give them any ideas. They might want to start a beach badge program on Highlands beaches and appoint themselves waxing inspectors. There is one councilman that has made traffic stops. If he thinks he has waxing inspection authority he could do even more damage to Highlands commerce.
I thought NJ Democrats hated bush.
I thought the courts were to handle damage claims. This is legitimate for a lawsuit not a regulation.
With this back door regulation we will never see the following:
Hair in the shape of landing strips
Hair in the shape of a Hiltler mustash
Hair in the shape of perfect triangle
Hair in the shape of a heart.
Hair in the shape of Willie Nelson's beard. Well, we may see more of that!
This will be the start of another slippery slope.
B..ch, B..ch, B..ch. I think it's a great idea. Of course, that may be because I was just hired as an inspector.
Art - where did you get the picture of Jen Beck in a bikini?

You thought that was Senator Beck? I thought it was a Caliendo Crier reporter.
Are they gonna have surprise inspection? You know, like the doping controls in some sports... Where they'd go to a beach, round up everyone, and check the hair?
With all due respect to the poster above(And to Jen Beck)Jen Beck is way hotter than that picture. She is in the class of the "Babes of the republican party." Women like Bo Derek and Sara Palin not like Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton.
For all the womens libbers out there, I never said you can't be ugly and smart. But, in the example, the listed women that are smart are hot, too. Just breaking the stereotype!
This is gonna SUCK! I always get a brazilian for summer. If I shave I get bumps.I can't believe this. This SUCKS!

Well, I can tell you right now, I'm just not going to be able to wear my speedos if I can't do what I have to down there.
you've got some pretty funny readers, Art, but, as gross as the topic is, it just proves again how totally out of control these libs have made NJ!.. dump Bozo, please!..
The State Board has long been out of touch A while back, few members were actually in the business of Cosmetology, which is a businees very different from others. Looking at the allowances in other states, the archaic rules in NJ need to be, at the very least, updated and brought into the modern world. One still needs to do finger waves and pincurls to pass the test for Pete's sake!!! And what about spas, some of which do not fall under their control?
What reporter is that?
