Dems Scrambling To Give Corzine A Boost

The Record's Charles Stile reports that U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, South Jersey Democratic Party leader George Norcross, state Sen. Ray Lesniak of Union County and Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo met with Newark Mayor Cory Booker last week in an attempt to get him to reconsider his decision not to accept Corzine's nomination for Lieutenant Governor.

Booker turned them down.

Gannett's Bob Ingle argues that Obama's July 16th rally with Corzine could hurt the President more than it helps that Governor. Ingle notes that Obama's approval numbers in NJ are weaker than any other state and that 25% of Obama's supporters do not support Corzine.

we can actually learn so much from the Dems: band together, circle the wagons, and all lie/spew the same talking points incessantly, til the drones believe them, also, be sure to blame the other side, the GOP, which is basically powerless both here and in DC, and force that legislative agenda down our necks, and, rule the media, and, pay attention to voter sentiment and news daily, and, rally those unions, and, get those absentees and dead folks ready to vote..if we do half the work they do, maybe we'll get somewhere!..
