Like many Republicans I was alarmed by Chris Christie's "Energy Plan" video.
President Obama and Harry Reid featured in a Christie for Governor video? Republicans don't like it and Democrats aren't buying it. By the time Independents start paying attention, solar energy and wind farms will not win them over.
I'm all for my Governor meeting with CEOs of established and emerging companies and selling them on setting up shop in New Jersey. Renewable energy is an emerging industry that would should attract. But it will take a lot more than 6,000 new jobs to turn New Jersey around. Christie should emphasise his economic plan that includes renewable energy, not one that sounds like it embraces "cap and trade."
The plank of his plan that includes overriding local zoning laws to allow solar farms "in every town" particularly alarming. What other mandates can we expect?
Sunshine and hot air are not going to turn our economy around. Let's hear more about attracting all kinds of industry to New Jersey by reducing taxes and burdensome regulation. Let's hear more about making our education system great so that businesses will have competent employees. Let's hear more about a leaner government that serves rather than thwarts innovation and employment.
Let Corzine have his partner in Washington. The last thing we need is an October ad by the President that says "Chris Christie has been going around New Jersey pretending to be my ally. Don't believe it. Vote for my partner Jon Corzine."

I get it, but,if he veers too far left, we'll be "left" at the voting booth again!!
Not an unexpected announcement, at least for a number of Conservatives.
Probably Chris Christie can now campaign with my Congressman, Rush Holt, since their energy ideas are very similar.
No surprise. This is why you should never pick anyone who has served in government for more the a few years. Anyone who makes a living as a politician or a government employee is not equiped to solve the problems our towns, County, State or Country face.
Christy is playing the game . Good for him. Why sHouldn't we make a play for the alternative energy Jobs. Might replace some of the telcom jobs that our elected officials let get away.
Alternative energy sources have to be a part of the game plan. The only thing I would have liked to see Christy add to his plan is offshore oil drilling.
I'm all for alternative energy, as long as the Government doesn't discriminate against other industries. If it gives tax breaks to alternative energy companies, it should give the same breaks to regular energy companies, including those who would drill offshore.
Drill here, drill now!.. use what we have, take the shackles off business, and feed people with the corn..if AlGore tells me to do something, you can bet it's a bad idea!!
Another NJ "Republican" crawling into bed with the enemy. I'm done voting the lesser of two evils - I asked over and over again where this guy stands on the issues. He waited until after the primary to let us know - he stands with Holt, Obama and Reed. We don't need someone who "plays the game." We need someone with the nerve to take the state of the state seriously, forget games, and man up. Obviously, Christie is not that guy.
I doubt there is any chance of real Republicans ever holding power in this state again. If you scratch most of our elected "Republican" officials, it doesn't take long to find the party name is just a thin veneer under which lurks another corrupt politician who will do and say anything to get elected to exchange favors and insider deals. Don't get me wrong same thing goes for the democrats, but it makes me sick listenning to all the corrupt people carrying on like they are going to advance a real Republican agenda.
