Chris Christie Will Provide a New Direction to Change New Jersey by Lowering Taxes, Controlling Spending, and Encouraging Private Sector Job Growth
PARSIPPANY, NJ - Today, the Christie-Guadagno Campaign highlights Chris' common sense plan to cut wasteful spending and reduce taxes in a new television ad, entitled, "Exactly." In the ad, Chris Christie contrasts his plan to put money back in the pockets of hardworking New Jerseyans with Jon Corzine's consistent willingness to increase taxes and state debt.
Christie-Guadagno Campaign Manager Bill Stepien said, "Chris is the only candidate in this race who not only recognizes the struggles New Jerseyans face, but is willing to make the difficult decisions necessary to provide the tax relief they are so desperate for. Our state can no longer afford an out of touch Governor who doesn't understand that his taxes are so unmanageable that New Jerseyans are leaving their home state for better jobs and lower taxes. Chris will do what it takes to control government spending by slashing the waste, fraud, and abuse out of our budget."

Chris Will Cut Spending. "Governor Corzine's spending is out of control. Taxpayer dollars are being wasted on ineffective programs while priority programs that have a positive impact on the quality of life of New Jersey families remain underfunded. Chris Christie will manage spending and take control of New Jersey's priorities by budgeting for the future, cutting wasteful spending and making sure every dollar counts." (Christiefornj.com)

Chris Will End Special Interest Giveaways. "For years, New Jersey has been infamous for the corrupt and impropriety of its elected officials. No one knows more about the need to drastically reform Trenton than Chris Christie. As U.S. Attorney, Chris convicted over 130 corrupt elected officials, making government more honest, open and accountable. Now he's ready to bring his fight to Trenton." (Christiefornj.com)

Chris Is Dedicated To Cutting Taxes And Restoring Property Tax Rebates. "New Jersey has the highest tax burden in the country and it's getting worse - the latest Corzine budget just raised taxes by another $1.2 billion. We're also burdened with the highest property taxes in the country, but that didn't stop Jon Corzine from taking away property tax rebates from 1.2 million New Jerseyans in this year's budget. In fact, Jon Corzine and Jim McGreevey have raised taxes on the average New Jersey family by more than $10,000 since 2002 - over $22 billion in taxes, the highest in the nation. In all, Corzine and Governor McGreevey have raised over 100 taxes on New Jersey's hardworking families. This will change in a Christie Administration. New Jersey's hard-working middle-class families can no longer handle the weight of these out of control taxes. The first step to reversing New Jersey's declining economic climate and giving New Jerseyans a little relief is by cutting taxes." (Christiefornj.com)

Chris Christie is committed to making New Jersey competitive again by attracting quality paying jobs, expanding new industries, and promoting New Jersey as a good place to do business." Chris' Plan Will Ensure All Of New Jersey's Children Receive The Education They Deserve. Our public education system is failing in far too many parts of our state - in our cities, in our suburbs and in the rural parts of our state. Our children deserve better. All our current government does is simply throw more money at the problem without ever bringing about real change. Change won't come just with more money. That's the easy answer that hasn't worked for far too long. Change will only come with increased accountability and greater parental involvement. It is a moral imperative to educate our children in every corner of this state. It's time we had a Governor with the courage to provide tough answers for tough questions. Chris Christie will be that Governor. (Christiefornj.com)
