A survey of 1,041 likely New Jersey voters taken Wednesday October 28 through Friday October 30 by the Monmouth University polling institute shows the New Jersey gubernatorial race in a virtual dead heat: Christie 43%, Corzine 42% and Daggett fading back to single digits at 8%.
Monmouth University polling director Patrick Murrary told MoreMonmouthMusings that its in unlikely that Corzine's resurrection of his terribly unpopular asset monetization plan impacted the results of this poll.
Murrary said that his team is continuing to poll over the weekend and other report will be released on Monday afternoon. That report should show what, if any, impact Corzine's "temporary moment of candor" as Chris Christie called it, will have on the election results.
Note to Christie campaign: Get those Daggett=Corzine ads off TV and replace them with a "NY Times: Corzine will revisted 800% toll increase" ad.
The Christie-Guadagno Bus Tour will stop in Middletown this afternoon at Bachstadt's Tavern, 8 Bray Avenue, North Middletown, NJ 07748, 2:30 PM. Then they're off to Freehold at All Season’s II Diner 4135 U.S. 9 North, Freehold, NJ 07728, 4PM
