Pallone Reaps Most Health Care Lobby Cash

6th district Congressman Frank Pallone took in more cash from the health care lobby, $321,000, than any other member of congress.

Pallone is the chairman of the health care sub-committee and one of the architects of ObamaCare. His supporters say these donations are not a problem because the congressman doesn't care what the health care lobby wants, he just takes their money and does what he and Nancy Pelosi want.

Pallone's supporters are probably right in this case. At his town hall meetings last summer, Pallone made it perfectly clear that he doesn't care what his constituents want. If he doesn't care what his voters want, it is entirely believable that he doesn't care what his donors want.

Why should he care? While Republicans are posed to have primaries in the 3rd, 4th and 12th congressional districts, there is no viable opponent to take on Pallone in the upcoming election. His past electoral success and his $4 million bank roll is scaring off all comers. Unless someone steps up soon who has money or can raise money, Pallone's opposition will be another sacrificial lamb taking one for the team.

Is it really any surprise that Frank Pallone has taken this much money from the health care lobby? Given his fondness for behind-closed-door dealings, why wouldn't Pallone trade on his sub-committee position for campaign donations? Let's face it - it's the money, not his dedication to his consituents, not his history of working for the people of our district, that have kept him inside the beltway. Pallone has chosen to represent the Obama administration first and his district last. He has sold us out again and again, ignoring our wishes to advance his political agenda.

As the health care lobby looks to protect its interests, why wouldn't they invest in Frank Pallone to help them keep as much of the change as possible? If history tells us anything about Pallone, it is that he will do whatever it takes to curry favor with the Washington in-crowd. Being the guy with the big wallet counts a great deal inside the Beltway. Too bad being a representative of your district doesn't hold as much cache'. Then maybe Frank Pallone would pay attention to the people of the 12th District, who, to our shame, keep him in Washington term after term.

Each time I receive a request for money from the RNC, I send it back with the following written on it:

No $ until you find and fund a candidate for the NJ 6th!
