This is Congressman Rush Holt's town hall meeting....not for people to come and give their own speeches. He should have taken the mic out of her hand earlier.
Ask your question and move on...that woman was giving a speech.

Anon11:58, this was not a lecture at Princeton, it was a TOWNHALL meeting. Constituents are supposed to come up, ask questions, and hold their REPRESENTATIVE accountable. It's the one moment in the life of a Representative when he listens to the one he represents. Holt didn't want that, he wanted to lecture his constituents. Rhoda went there to ask a question, not to give a speech.
One Sunday Rush Holt visited a Church I used to attend. After the service I thought this would be a good opportunity to talk to my congressman about an issue that I cared about. I picked Social Security reform as that issue. I advocated for a system that allowed people to invest some of the money themselves. Holts response to me was and I quote "the American people are not smart enough to make those decisions for themselves"
That is the type of arrogance we are dealing with. I was so flabbergasted that it was one of the few times in my life I was left speechless.
Holt's recent behaviour is no suprise. He has nothing but contempt for us lesser beings.
