Comment, No Comment

No, this post is not a whether the Sipprelle campaign should have a free "friends and family plan" in the comments of the CD 12 postings. Comments are closed for those until the price of admission is paid or until I change my mind.

This post is about CD 6 candidate Diane Gooch's Comment/No Comment feature in TRT: The Book, as covered by RedBankGreen.

RedBankGreen explains:

A little background is in order here.

In addition to the weekly newspaper she and her husband bought from Geraldo Rivera in 2004, Gooch also publishes a magazine called “TRT: The Book.” (A “book” is what people who work in the magazine industry call magazines, but never mind.) The Book, which caters to the carriage trade, has been on hiatus for a year because of the recession’s impact on advertising, Gooch says.

Before it went dark, each issue of The Book included in its high-gloss pages a two-page photo feature, with pictures credited to Gooch herself, called “Comment/No Comment.”

On the Comment page were photos of unidentified shoppers, beachgoers and the like, displaying fashion sense that Gooch apparently approved of, though there was no accompanying text: just photos of women, usually, in fitted skirts, adorable prints or stylish hats.

On the No Comment page were unmistakably unflattering pictures of women in too-tight pants, undersized bathing suits, or with their plumber’s smiles showing.

What the pictures had in common was that they appeared to have been taken from a distance without the subjects’ knowledge. Overwhelmingly, they also focused on tuchases.

We’re talking a double truck of dainty derrieres, bulging backsides and flappity mud flaps.

Prior to Gooch’s formal announcement last night, redbankgreen finagled a short sit-down with her. With one of her handlers impatiently urging us to stick to questions about her campaign, we asked Gooch whether she regretted taking and publishing the photos.

“I don’t think I did anything that was hurtful,” she said. “It was supposed to be light and fun.”

She said she had appeared in the No Comment page herself, face-down after a bumpy ride in a fighter jet, and once published a shot of her own sister’s butt, though she didn’t say which page that one ran on.

“Sometimes you just have to give people a break and have some fun,” Gooch said.

We couldn’t agree more.

To see RBG's Comment/No Comment photos of the candidate, you'll have to visit the site.

Feel free to comment on this photo and which candidate you would like to wipe him (out).

Interesting, That is not the first less the flattering article red Bank Green has printed about the Gooch'S

As to the article itself. In my mind this does not show Gooch to be "Fun". Strikes me as the cheerleader/homecoming queen making fun of all the lesser beings.

Rather Juvenile.

Just what we need... republican fashion police. The arbiter of what's cool and uncool. I would have to agree with Anon above. Making fun of the little people on the street, and without their knowledge is not cool. Its kind of warped.

With a name like "Gooch"...maybe she should rethink making fun of others.

Your apparent dislike with wealthy people is ridiculous. Did a private school kid make fun of you once?

Maybe you should become a dem?

Frank Pallone is wealthy?

Did a private school kid make fun of you once?

I think one just did.

Here they go again said...

this is only the beginning of the class warfare on parade: whenever Dems/libs feel threatened, just divide people and get them to focus on their differences, rather than their poor performance and record.. in the case of Pallone, the record's so flimsy and socialist, he'll continue to have his minions get this stuff out, while saying nothing and laying low, and soon the drones'll be willing to stick with their homey, yet again..sure works, right??.. am sure when she did these silly pictures she and hubby weren't thinking of any fun-run at this seat, but the boys'll be a-trashin' her,all through the race: bank on it..

Pallone does seem to have a few bucks. I wonder where it all came from. And I love a guy from colts neck who is looking out for the little guy. What a joke.

The "little guy from Colts Neck" lives in a 2 bedroom ranch. Just one more stereotype to shoot down. Not everyone in Colts Neck lives on Trump Blvd. But, some idiots will never get that. Geeshh.

Anon 2:13.

Exactly and that is why Gooch is a bad candidate. Pallone will hammer her and she is giving him plenty of material to work with.

And her handlers trying to turn it into a rags to riches horatio Algier story will not work for two rweasons 1. She married into money and two people will only care where she is not where she came from.

taht is why she is the wrong candidate for that districty.

Pallone's bucks?.. unions largely, from all over, more than one opponent's tried to make the point that so much in his warchest never came from NJ, let alone his own district, no one cared...time to bust it up..
