Handlin Endorses Sipprelle

Assemblywoman Amy Handlin (R-13) endorsed Scott Sipprelle for the GOP nomination in CD 12 today.

In a statement released by the Sipprelle campaign, Handlin said:

“Scott Sipprelle is the right candidate at the right time to take on and defeat Rush Holt, and I am proud to step forward and announce my public support for his candidacy,”

“The positive tone of Scott’s campaign and his willingness to outline detailed solutions relating to earmarks and wasteful government spending resonated with me. I am also pleased to see his commitment to term limits for the US Congress. His grasp of the issues really impressed me and I am confident it will do the same with voters seeking a new direction for our country this November.”

According to his statement, Sipprelle called the endorsement “huge” and pledged to continue his outreach into Monmouth County in the hopes of receiving further support in the weeks ahead.

Handlin is the only Monmouth County office holder to date to publicly support Sipprelle. His opponent for the nomination, Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre, appears to be holding onto his support from the majority of Monmouth County office holders.

The only other elected official to endorse Sipprelle is Senator Bill Baroni from Mercer County.

In response to Handln's endorsement of Sipprelle, Halfacre said:

"I like and respect Amy Handlin and she is free to endorse whomever she chooses. I am grateful to have the continued support of Senators Beck and Kean, Assembly members Angelini, Casagrande and O’Scanlon, Freeholder Director Burry, Deputy Director Clifton, Freeholder Curley and a significant majority of municipal chairs in the Monmouth portion of the 12th District.

I believe that in Monmouth County and all over the 12th District, a small business owner with a record of cutting property taxes , and a small government, pro-business philosophy is the best person to defeat Rush Holt in November. It is that record and that philosophy which has earned me grassroots support throughout the district, including the support of four major Tea Party groups in New Jersey. I will continue spreading my message and building that grassroots support, and together with the people we will give the 12th District a representative in Washington who reflects the values of the district. "

From Phony Baroni to Ramblin' Handlin, this guy sure has the support of the winners!

His candidacy is as good as dead. If he didn't have millions in bailout money he wouldn't even be a part of the conversation.

We will see about that: "Fair Haven Mike Halfacre, appears to be holding onto his support from the majority of Monmouth County office holders."

He has no bail out money
try sticking to the truth

"His candidacy is as good as dead." Really? You still have your head in that wet paper bag, because you're clearly not seeing the reality of the situation. Halfacre never had a real chance given his very modest accomlishments, somewhat checkered history, complete lack of money, and resulting weak public appeal. And since his supporters have gone completely negative, he now has absolutley no chance at all.

Does Halfacre realize that after he loses he still has to face these people? Guess he cares not about party unity OR beating Holt. The narcissist thinks this is all about him.

I have never in my life seen such immature nastiness in a primary campaign.

My mind is made up for sure now. Scott Sipprelle is the man.

Question to Speinelle supporters.

If your clown was a teacher or a plumber or even an ordinary lawyer who wasn't very wealthy, would he have a prayer in the world of getting more than 5%?

Lets cut this game out and go with someone with a record. Mike Halfacre 2010.

Art, I thought you weren't going to post any of Sipprelle's press releases?

Huh.

I haven't since I said I wouldn't, including this post. Referring to a release and posting the release are quite different.

Duh

"Question to Speinelle supporters. . . . If your clown was a teacher or a plumber . . ."

I see, so now Scott Sipprelle is a "clown." A guy who was a huge success in business and who made a pile of money without help from anyone is a "clown." A guy who went after crooked management at Morgan Stanley and put his own livelihood on the line because he thought it was the right thing to do is a "clown." A guy who doesn't need to run for anything and who could kick back and enjoy his money but who has decided to throw himself into the public arena for no reason other than he is worried about the future of his country is a "clown."

I think we all know who the real clown is here.

"Lets cut this game out and go with someone with a record. Mike Halfacre 2010."

This "game" is called the democratic process of a primary, something Mike Halfacre has never had to deal with ... and, sadly, it shows. Sadly --- because he is bringing down the dignity of a process with his snide innuendo, arrogance, bullying tactics and desperation. He is hurting the party, and he could care less. If only he could stick to the issues...but he can't because, you see, he has no record.
Unless of course you mean the record of actually flipping a coin at a public meeting to make a tough decision, championing a movement to oust the Boy Scouts from public schools, padding his pension with multiple prosecutorial jobs, riding the 2009Chamber train to D.C. to schmooze for campaign $$, quitting every elected office he ever held before the term was up because there was more money in the positions they would provide for him, and the list goes on and on ...

ok, hope it isn't a kiss of death for Scott!

I have lost respect for the elected official around here who every year enmass endorse the party machines pick instead of considering all candidates. Anytime there is a primary contest they all pick the one who will do what the machine tells them, showing are representatives are nothing but puppets of the back room bosses. How is it our freeholders and state reps never have a different opinion on who the best candidate is? Answer - they are told who to endorse like a herd of lemmings
