Holt Attends White House Ramada Iftar Where President Endorses Ground Zero Mosque

Text of President Obama's remarks at the White House Iftar dinner on Ramadan

Good evening. Welcome to the White House. To you, to Muslim Americans across our country, and to more than one billion Muslims around the world, I extend my best wishes on this holy month. Ramadan Kareem. I want to welcome members of the diplomatic corps; members of my administration; and Members of Congress, including Rush Holt, John Conyers, and Andre Carson, who is one of two Muslim American Members of Congress, along with Keith Ellison.

Besides pointing out that Obama is a gracious host and Holt is a representative of ALL his constituents, just what is the point you're trying to make?

Oh. That's right. It must be that Obama is continuing a tradition started by Bush.

(Did the FOX forget to tell you about that? My oh my. One would almost think them to be duplicitous given all this "right"eous indignation over the Iftar).

So is it a kudo or cudgel you were wielding with that post?

My God, you're not gonna diss Bush?! Say it ain't so, Art! Say it ain't so.

Seriously, Art. Why do you post her ramblings?

Because they're backed up with facts, idiot! Not some local yokel's opinion.

But I know. People like you never let the facts get in the way of your good time.

I'll stop now so you don't forget to take your meds.

Kathy darling,

I have no problem with the Ifar. My problem is with the endorsement of the masque at ground zero.

It is good to read you say nice things about President Bush.

I don't believe he would endorse a masque at ground zero.

Why do I point out that Holt was one of a handful of congress members there? It highlights his J Street problem. I'd like my Jewish readers to know that he was there.

I enjoy Kathy's participation here...when it is backed up by facts, and when it is not.

I'd like to have more antagonists here. That will lead to more debate and discourse.

And Kathy...I didn't get this story from Fox. I got it from the LATimes.

Art, Dear,

I confess to not getting the J Street allusion.

I stand corrected regarding the LA Times but confess to not knowing who is behind them. You know. Like the Reverend Sun Myung Moon owning the Washington Times.

From moonies to loonies for all I know.

In his final desperate days, the real Rush Holt will emerge for public viewing. Not just a party hanger-on, this guy is an agent of the Destroy America Movement. Ravage our economy or desecrate a hallowed resting place for innocent souls. What's the difference Rush.

There's video at whitehouse.gov!

I'm sure Messrs Holt and Pallone were among those who both support the mosque at ground zero and stood up in DC to give a standing ovation to a Mexican president assaulting the soverign state of Arizona.
Point is, if America The Beatiful can be insulted, maligned and demeaned we can count on the likes of Pallone and Holt to be at the head of the line. Shameful, absolutely shameful.

Stick with me (and Freddy) KB. You'll learn a few things you won't be very happy about. Rush isn't who you think he is.

Also, you've revealed the essence of why MMM is Fair and Biased. As counterintuitive as it may be, it is not only possible to be both at the same time, but it is necessary to be upfront about your bias if you are really fair.

MMM is fair because our news and commentary is based on facts. We don't just make things up, except on April fools day and in otherwise obvious and occassional satire.

We're upfront about what we think those facts mean, and welcome other points of view, which we usually promptly debunk.

Art,

Who is "Freddie?" And you still haven't explained the "J" Street reference. I really don't know what it is and now that you've piqued my interest it would be downright cruel of you not to explain.

P.S. You think I drive YOU crazy. My other half is the VP of the Freehold Twp. Republican Club. A group, by the way, that I have nothing but high praise for and hold in the highest esteem.

Kathy,

Freddy Lehlbach. You forget him already?

I posted a link out front to the June 29 J Street story for you. Thanks for the excuse to bring it front and center again.

You don't drive me crazy. You get under some of my readers' skin. I find you amusing.

I knew you had it in you to love a Republican.

Art - that tells a lot about you that you want your Jewish readers to know that Rep. Holt attended an event with Muslims. The audacity of him to be in the same room with Muslims!

your beliefs in bigotry and dividing people of different religions are never surprising. I mean just that Holt attended an annual White House dinner for Ramada, you have to alert your Jewish readers that there is something wrong with that then? Like he is committing a crime by being there?

Unbelievable. You do what Republicans do so well, play on people's fears.
