Hurricane Earl has come and gone with hardly an impact, leaving New Jersey with a delightful Labor Day weekend.
Here are the hill in Highlands the view is clear and beautiful. I can see well east of Long Beach Long Island. There's still cars entering Sandy Hook but the park will probably close soon. Lot D looks to be full. It should be a great day on the shore.
It's not a great boating day as there is a strong Northeast wind on the Sandy Hook Bay. Maybe the boats will be out tomorrow.
I can't help but be amused by the complaints I've heard and read about the lack of destruction left by Earl.
"I secured the patio furniture for this?!," one friend said on facebook. "There wasn't even enough rain to water the grass!," was another complaint I've heard.

And if Earl tracked 300 miles to the west, people would be bemoaning the devestation.
And if "ifs" and "buts" were fruit and nuts, everyday would be Christmas.
I think Congress must take action to ensure that weathermen don't receive bonuses this year. If they do, tax them at 90%
