Curley Will Seek Freeholder Nomination

Former Red Bank Councilman John Curley, who narrowly lost to Amy Mallet in last year's Freeholder race, will seek the GOP nomination again this year.

Curley told MoreMonmouthMusings that he will personally submit his letter of intent to Chairman Joe Oxley on Friday March 6.

That's unfortunate...this guy never has anything good to say and comes across angry. Can't see his style scoring points against McMorrow. Let's get some new blood rather than recycle used goods.

Now at least I have someone to support!!! Who are the other 2 Republicans aghain? Curley should have won last year and with strong support for Christie this year and name recognition maybe he pulls it out! Good luck!

I am sure that the other candidate is a wonderful person however I am glad to see Mr. Curley back in the game. Mr. Curley should be sitting up there in Freehold with both Freeholders Burry and Clifton however NAME RECOGNITION got Amy Mallet elected This year with Christie at the top of the ticket Curley can't lose Thanks Mr. Curley for getting in the race

Curley so pissed off so many people including the chairman that I guarantee he will not get the nod.

Maybe there is something to be said for an undemocratic process.

Remember, every year's a different turnout and dynamic: just because one got "close", doesn't assure the same re-vote the next year, and enough to be put at 50.1 %.. it'll be less % than Presidential, and different local dynamics/races in different towns, plus the 15 assembly seats, so I hope for someone younger, spicy and articulate, that "gets" this county, and can really work hard, in the right places, to get known, sitting there buried in the middle of the '09 ballot, with NO county running-mates to help!..

I had a feeling that he would try again.

Curley has energy and a conservative message. We need articulate candidates like Curley.

If Oxley picks a relatively unknown from the county, he will be starting at square one. How many times must Republicans start from behind the 8ball before we get back on track?

We need to have a vote of ELECTED county committee persons! Let the established process work as it was intended! Let the ELECTED representatives of the Republicans in the county decide!
