The Asbury Park Press, citing anonymous sources, is reporting that Undersheriff Shaun Golden will be appointed by Governor Christie to complete Kim Guadagno's term as Monmouth County Sheriff. Guadagno will resign the post upon being sworn in as Lieutenant Governor.

I think Shaun will make an excellent Sheriff.

It was obvious during the screening committee that I sat on that Kim Guadagno was going to be a great leader, which is why she got my vote, but I thought Shaun did a great job presenting himself before the committee.

Shaun succeeding Kim will ensure a smooth transition, and hopefully some of the policies that Kim instituted, such as the tough stance on criminal illegal aliens will continue.

Hopefully...the rumors are true!
