Jackie Corley, the Bayshore Journalista has an interesting post today detailing her findings from her recent study of ELEC reports. Seems there was moving money around between the Aberdeen GOP account and the County GOP account to wash donations from county vendors.
Unlike some of my blogging brethren, I don't have a problem with this practice. It is unfortunate that campaigns have to go through these excercises, but until there is a system that doesn't favor unions donating unlimited funds to Democrats, I really don't see much of an alternative.

I'm with you, Mr. Secretary.
if you dont care about this, then why post it in public and make a bid deal about it for all to see? Nice one!!! Perhaps the dems will pick up on this and trash the GOP. Then continue raising and wheeling like they always do and take over Monmouth County. Then you will really have stuff to blog about.

I didn't say I didn't care about it. I said I didn't have a problem with the practice of moving money around to finance a campaign and comply with the law. There is a difference.
And I think we should all see it. In his "Ethical Roadmap" Chairman Puharic promised that our ELEC reports would be posted on the party website. Evidently he's forgotten to put them up since the September reports.
If Adam intends to keep his word he should post the reports. If he is backing off that promise, it would be smart to remove the previous reports and the reference to the "Ethical Roadmap." Why remind everyone of a broken promise.
GOP calls on Dems to return contribution
Pay-to-play accusations surface over train station development once again

ABERDEEN — Republican Municipal Chairman Michael Borg has accused the Aberdeen Democrats of pay-to-play activities by indirectly accepting a 2001 campaign donation from the company chosen by Aberdeen to redevelop the train station.
Dean Development Co. Inc., a Monroe Township development firm linked to Silver Oak Properties, donated $5,000 to the Monmouth County Democrats. William Bocra is the president of both companies. The same amount was then donated to the Aberdeen Township Democratic campaign fund for 2001 less than two weeks later, a process Borg labeled in a press release as a “pass thru.”
Borg thinks they should return the money.
“We think they should give the money back,” Borg said, citing a need for the township to “police themselves” when it comes to campaign finance issues.
