Little to run for Mayor

The Highlands Republican Committee unanimously nominated Freeholder Anna Little for Mayor. If Monmouth GOP Chairman Adam Puharic approves, Little will fill the vacancy on the ballot created by the withdrawl of Mayor Rick O'Neil.

Little will join Councilwoman Nancy Thomas on the Republican ticket against Democratic Councilman John Urbanski for Mayor and former Councilwoman Rebecca Kane.

Thomas was appointed to fill the seat the Little vacated last September during her successful run for Freeholder.

Little and Thomas are defending a 3-2 Republican majority on the Highlands Borough Council.

I hope the vindictive little general will allow Anna Little to run....but don't you think that its kind of sad that she even needs his approval. Are things really that bad with the GOP these days that one person with a huge Napoleon complex can screw up a true servant of the people's career? Its a shame that they let Comrade Puharic wield so much power. Someone should challenge this petty tyrant at the next election for County Chairman. Or do you think he would have their legs broken by the same two goons who stood by his side when he had his meeting with Little....I wouldn't put it past him.

By what protocol does Adam Puharic have any role in a completely internal Highlands decision?

Senator,

My understanding, is that the County Chair has the power to fill any vacancy on the ballot. I'm not an expert. That is what our municipal chair was lead to believe. He was also lead to believe that Puharic's approval would be granted.

Not true. County Chair has no say on filling a vacancy, only on who gets the line in the election if there's a primary. By the way, don't worry about the two goons. Word out of Manalapan is that the only person still loyal to McEnery is loser Lucas himself who was caught running behind the scenes with democratic corruption artist Drew Shapiro.

I have watched with sincere interest Anna's graceful chosen path in her battle with the "good ole boy's club" division of the Republican Party in Monmouth County.I have known Anna for a very long time and remember when she, then a law student, was one of the finest young women I was privileged to know.I believe we have been deprived of a commendable public servant and a courageous young woman. I look forward to the day Anna Little again holds public office.
