Curley wins!

John Curley of Red Bank won the Monmouth County GOP nomination for Freeholder tonight, besting Serena DiMaso of Holmdel by 168-103.

Curley joins Freeholder Director Lillian Burry on the Republican ticket that will face Democrats Amy Mallet of Fair Haven and Glenn Mason of Hazlet in the November election.

Partisan control of the Freeholder Board is at stake in this race. The GOP currently holds a 3-2 majority. The seats held by Burry and Bill Barham are up this year. Barham chose not to seek re-election.

Fantastic!

Great candidate.

now if we can just make sure Puharic and his goons don't have anything to do with the election this year, we can hold onto these seats and stop the nose dive started by the Puharic/McEnery/Lucas disease.

Agree. DiMaso speech was weak. The moment of silence was completely fake and the 'with all due respect to John I am better' comment shows how out of touch she is with reality. This is like Hillary Clinton Lite (very lite). Maybe she ducks sniper fire in Holmdel on her way to meetings too - haha

Does Joe Kyrillos has any juice at all anymore? He's now married to Romney and DiMaso. Who is the next winner, Joe? They better ask Joe to 'not' endorse them! HA!

Also, why was this convention in Middletown? Why didn't we have it in Howell or SOuthern Monmouth. At least the Senator's would show up.

I heard that it was in Middletown to attract as many of the Middletwon delegates as possible, to further the Kyrillos-Carton agenda of putting in DiMaso.

middletown is one seat away from democrat control. they don't matter anymore. the funny thing is that sirena has a history of stabbing people in the back so carton or anyone would likely get nothing anyway. as for adam he is not very relevant either - they should have not endorsed any senate candidate for starters. endorsing someone you don't know? cmon man - just resign if you sell out that cheap. jeez louise

The comment about McEnry and Lucas is on the mark. Our downward slide started when that blowhard from Manalapan got legs when his boy got the nomination (although he really did not win the convention but that's another story). McEnry walks around with his chest puffed out like he is some political genuis. Yeah right. Great job in Manalapan! Now he is at work giving the County over to the Ds.

That's not his chest.
