As noted on "Barry Goldwater's" blog, Jim Gianell has answered Manalapan GOP Chairman Steve McEnery's email with a post on several blogs, including this one.
Jim's comment sounds like he might me a candidate for Chairman. Previously, Gianell told me he would not be a candidate, which he confirmed today, with only the slightest degree of wiggle room, i.e. if no one else is.
Several GOP leaders are considering a race but no one has thrown their hat in the ring.
One person considering a run told me that a confidant of incumbent Chairman Adam Puharic's said that Puharic would be happy to give up the chair and spend more time with his family, "so long as Gianell doesn't take over."
If true, Puharic's position seems to be, "Anyone but Gianell." Gianell's position is "Anyone but Puharic."

Adam has to know he's in a no-win situation.
I'm suprised there aren't any official challengers yet. What are they waiting for?
There it is. Anyone but Gianell.
How Childish. Is it because maybe Gianell is right and Adam has been wrong.
How about anybody the majority of the party is willing to back.
What did Gianell do to make Puharic so irrational?
I believe it all goes back to Anna Little. It is no secret that Jim created her initial candidacy and was a close advisor. problem is she would not kowtow to Adam and Barham so they and their surrogates went after her.
So who drew first blood attacking other republicans. Not Gianell.
Who has opposed democracy in favor of party bossism. Not Giannel.
You can say what you want about Gianell working in the shadows but he has proved that he is an excellent organizer and has the capability to build effective coalitions. He did it for Liilian Burry, He did it for Lucas (who made the mistake of not listening to Giannel afterwards)he did it with Anna Little. Although I would not give him all the credit for getting Curly the nomination he helped out their too. Each time he beat candidates who had the support of powerful people in the party and he did it through effective grassroots organizing.
Does he play rough sometimes. Yes but usually after the other side starts it. Lets face it politics is a rough game.
Has he sought paying positions in government? has he used his political clout to make money?
The answer to both those questions is no. He has done what he has done because he believes in Republican ideals and is against politicians who milk the system.
The only reason Jim Giannell has become controversial is because he has opposed party bosses who in his view are in politics for the wrong reasons.
Is he perfect. No, in fact some criticisms I have heard of him hit close to home but the party could do a lot worse then Jim Gianell as Chairman.
Each time he beat candidates who had the support of powerful people in the party and he did it through effective grassroots organizing.
There, you have it.
The electorate of the Republican party have been disenfranchised by the likes of Adam Puharic and Bill Barham and Malcolm Carton and maybe even Rob Clifton. Maybe the Republicans that care about Monmouth County and not themselves or the good ole boy network will finally smell the coffee and recognize candidates that are good for the PEOPLE. Anna Little was good for the people and would not knuckle under and compromise her principles for that bunch.Looking forward to the day all these good ole boys (and girls) are history and integrity is restored to government in our county and our municipalities. The current choice of the people is the Democrats because the good ole boys currently control the hierachy of the Republican party and as long as they do,success at the polls will be limited. If Gianell can restore this integrity.for the Republicans....RIGHT ON !!!Bi partisan government is HEALTHY....keeps everyone working for the people and that's what it is really all about !!!
