Assembly Speaker Joe Roberts has broken with Corzine over the governor's plan to gut state aid to municipalities with populations under 10,000, according to the Star Ledger.
Kudos to Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre who has testified before both the Assembly and Senate Budget committees about the efficiencies of small towns and the inequity of Corzine's plan.

Someone shu=ould propose that NJ break up the big inefficient municipalities into small managable entities. Gov Corzine is playing a game by pushing for elimination of small municipalities and school districts. The focus should be on sharing comparitive data and letting residents determine there future based on data. Many of the smaller communities are less costly and better places then the larger ones. Politicians are always looking for a sound bite that will generate knee jerk reactions. it is time to get rid of the gamers and get public servants that care about taxpayers.
