Unanue withdraws

Citing the the controversy over his residency and spending irregularities in a previous congressional exploration, Goya heir Andy Unanue withdrew from the race for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate. In a prepared statement issued from the ski slopes of Colorado, Unanue said,

In the Democratic race, Blue Jersey reports that Jon Corzine has decided to preempt a primary battle between Frank Lautenberg and Congressman Robert Andrews by running to replace Frank Lautenberg for the second time.

Torch replaced Bill Bradley, and Lautenberg replaced the Torch when he withdrew from the 2002 race.
