Chairman Oxley

In a unanimous vote and without the feared procedural distractions, a united MCGOP heeded outgoing chairman Adam Puharic's emotional call to support Joe Oxley as the new county chairman.

In her nomination speech, Freeholder Director Lillian Burry said that Joe Oxley was the right person to bring the stablilty and leadership needed to the MCGOP in these tumultous times. Highlands Councilman Frank Nolan seconded the nomination from the floor.

Declaring that he stands on the shoulders of his predecessors, Ben Danskin, Fred Kneisler, Bill Dowd, Fred Niemann and Adam Puharic, the newly elected chairman called on Monmouth County Republicans to set aside their differences and work together in an effort to retain control of the Monmouth County Freeholder Board in this November's election.

Pointing to our outstanding park system, quality of life and the fiscal restraint evidenced by this year's flat county budget championed by Burry, Oxley declared that Republican leadership and ideals are what has made Monmouth County great and that it is that quality of life that we are fighting for in the upcoming campaign.

Pledging to work with municipal chair people, Oxley declared that the grass roots county committee is the foundation of the Monmouth County Republican Party and the key to its success.

As his first order of business, Oxley nominated Rumson resident Diane Gooch as his vice chair. Gooch is the co-owner and publisher of the Two River Times, a prominent philanthropist, a significant donor and fundraiser for the state and national Republican party, and a delegate to the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Diane Gooch, third from left, is the new vice chair of the MCGOP.

In more good news for Republcians, Director Burry announced that she fired assistant county counsel James Cleary because he has failed to resolve his issue with the Western Monmouth Utility Authority over $165,000 in health and pension benefits the state says he was not entitled to. This is a hopeful sign that Bonehead season has been cut short this year.

What is Oxley going to do with the Puharic SS which wanted to force Anna Little to pay for a "Background Check" right after she won an election?

I hope Joe Oxley is going to send this little elite group out of power.

Stephen McEnery with is vicious attack ads against fellow loyal Republicans should be the first to go!
