James Codey responds to Pat Walsh's press release

This is a response to Pat Walsh's press release protesting the recall petition.

A recent press release from Board of Education member Pat Walsh protesting the recall petition illustrates precisely why the petition was filed in the first place. Her release makes wild allegations and is nothing more than a self-serving attempt to try and deflect the seriousness of her actions on the Board of Education.

My motivation for bringing the petition in the first place is simple. I have observed Mrs. Walsh's performance on the Board of Education for nearly five years. Her behavior at meetings, her lack of transparency, her persistent ethics problems and her horrendous voting record have frustrated me and many other parents of all political affiliations since she has been a member of the board.

In addition, it appears that she views the Board of Education as nothing more than a stepping stone for higher office. As a parent and taxpayer, my concerns are for our children's education and the well-being of the town, not Mrs. Walsh's political ambitions.

I know I speak for many others when I say that Mrs. Walsh's poor judgment has cost the township hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past ten years and placed the health of our children at risk with her proposal to put a cell tower at H.S. South. I feel it is imperative that when an elected official consistently engages in behavior that is contrary to the good of the town, it is the duty of concerned citizens to speak out and take corrective action.

Committee Chairman to recall, B. O. E. Member Pat Walsh.

James Cody

Were does the petition stand now? Is it in the hands of the Board Secretary, or are you begining to get signatures? How can I sign it?

He needs to check with your buddy Declan O'Scanlon on the cell tower non-issue. O'Scanlon has repeatedly said that there are no findings with regards to the health of the schoolchildren when it comes to cell towers.

Here's just an excerpt of him talking about the proposed tower at an elementary school in Tinton Falls...

"So we are talking about a level of RF exposure that is extremely low. World Health Organization (WHO), the FCC and every other accredited entity that studied RF exposure have reached the same conclusion. There are no ill health effects from exposures way higher than this and certainly none at these levels," said O'Scanlon.

Was O'Scanlon lying then? Or is Codey just looking for some mud to throw and hopes it sticks.

Right Mr. Cody - how long do we have to wait for the Board to sign off on this thing?

You guys don't get it--these people are not even republicans. Walsh is only pissing them off more. Everything isn't political. They live in middletown, not tinton falls, their kids go to school in middletown. they could care less about what declan o'scanlon says.

Well, Rick, I guess that just shows you that this is not a coordinated republican effort.

Also, believe it or not, even if Mr. Cody were a republican, republicans are allowed to hold different opinions from other republicans. Not like that other party, where if you don't drink the kool-aid, you're out.

It has nothing to do with republican or democrat Barry...he's the supposed expert on cell phone towers, that just happens to be republican. And these people just happen to throw a curveball during the election cycle when they felt that the republicans are losing.

Yeah, right, not politically motivated. What a bunch of BS.

How's that for spin.

And have you read anything I've written? Do you think I follow the party line on everything? If you do, then your kool-aid has a ton of alcohol in it.

It is so hard for a "follow the fuhrer to the bunker" Democrat like ambrosiajr to believe that the despicable Joe Caliendo could have chosen yet another damaged candidate. Parents have known how bad Walsh is for years. It's about time everyone else found out too.

Yup...another Nazi reference...geezz..you guys need some new material.

If Walsh's tenor on the BOE has been so bad why does she keep getting reelected to the board?

It seems to me that partisan republicans in town can't stomach the thought that Walsh will win a seat on the committee and give dems control for the first time in over 20 years.

Because nobody votes in school board elections and she opposes moving them to november because she knows she'll lose.

Even if true, so what? Where is Walsh's documentation that the $30K has been repaid. Has she filed amended disclosure reports?

Was $30K all of it?

Did the Sullivan's do any business with the BOE, and if so, did Walsh recuse herself from voting?

These questions need to be answered before Walsh can credibly claim to be "for clean government."

The Democrat posters here are beyond belief. First genius, I am 100% male and wouldn't know the people who initiated the recall petition if I tripped over them. But if I met them, I would tip my hat and thank them for speaking out against a person who has an abysmal record and would be a disaster in any other office. And to the poster who questioned why she was re-elected to the BOE - it helps to run unopposed in April when voter turnout is at its lowest. Go to it Mr. Cody!
