Congratulations to Amy Mallet and the Monmouth County Democrats

Heartfelt congratulations goes out to Freeholder elect Amy Mallet for her victory, and to Chairman Victor Scudiery and the entire Monmouth County Democratic organization for winning control of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders for the first time in 23 years.

Mallet, along with Freeholders Barbara McMorrow and John D'Amico are charged with providing an affirmative answer the question, "Where in New Jersey are Democrats governing as well as Republicans did in Monmouth County for 23 years?" For the sake of all Monmouth County residents and taxpayers, I hope they do as well or better as the GOP has done for so long.

We'll be watching.

So will there be a recount or not?
In my opinion, that would be a waste of money since, as i previously said, recounts tend to favor Democrats.

Before anyone gets their shorts in a knot or calls on me to apologize or resign or perform the ceremonial walk of shame, I was kidding about egging Amy Mallet's house.

Why no recount??

Oh, and let the sniping begin!

Can't we just say it was probably pallone coattails...of all things.

Yeah I know, then we would have lost both, but still come on..how else did both our candidates underperform local GOP candidates in multiple towns, including Middletown?

Maybe Holt coattails too..I need to find some town by town results to analyze here.

Why no recount??

Because it would have taken a month, cost the candidate or the party in the area of $50K in legal fees and probably would not have changed the result.

Glad to be the provider of such great entertainment!

I actually started kissing ass, if that is what you want to call it, already.

I called my friend Vic Scudiery today to congratulate him. Vic and I sit on a board together and we know each better than Barack Obama and William Ayers do, if Obama is to be believed.

Vic told me that he is going to call on the Freeholders to cut spending and reduce taxes. If they do that they will get cheers from me!

"Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood...a wonderful day in the neighborhood.."

Well, its about time this happened. Although, I must say, I would not have been disappointed if Curley won. I am disappointed that Madame Burry won. But at least she'll be neutralized and out of the director's position come January.

Geez Rick get the song right.

Its a beutiful day in the neighborhood a beutiful day for a neighbor. would you be my...could you be my...won't you be my neighbor

On second thought maybe not.

Wow Rick..minus points for screwing up the very easy Mr. Rogers theme song.

Way to kiss ass Art, I'm proud of you're smart political skill..haha.

Just blame the loss on me, I change my voter registration from Bergen to Monmouth and what happens: R's lose control of Monmouth for the first time in like 20 years.

Geez...ok, so I screwed it up...at least I didn't use the Eddie Murphy version.

Please, if you must use the Eddie Murphy version, do it over at one of the Caliendo Crier blogs.

Hey Sedler, analyze her hometown where they know her best .... and know her to be MIA on every town issue and meeting. Very little support there for the Burry/Curley team, though Burry was the loser there. Had the full ticket gotten support, Mallet's final tally would have been cut in half.

Although I am a Democrat, i read your blog regularly. Your post is classy and in the spirit of cooperation. Even though I disagree with some of your GOP leanings, I respect you even more in a GOP defeat.
