Mr. Corzine going to Washington?

Bob Ingle has a post this morning indicating that Govenor Corzine is not on President-elect Obama's short list for Treasury Secretary. That is good news for America and inspires hope that despite his inexperience, Obama has good judgement.

Why would anyone think that a bond trader and a poor executive would be qualified to be Treasury Secretary? What would Corzine do to fix the US economy? Put tolls on the Interestate Highways and then sell them to China? As a Wall Street executive, Corzine was a proponent of the kinds of financial instruments that have lead to our decline and wiped out the retirement funds of employees and investors in Enron and MCI. This is a guy we want to trust with our nations fiscal policy?

Given the President-elect's inexperience, he needs to recruit the best and the brightest. Corzine doesn't fit that bill for Treasury.

Based on his record in New Jersey, Corzine is more qualified to be Secretary of Labor.

I do not think Corzine can pass an FBI background check to hold a Cabinet position.

Let him stay here. Chris Christie will knock him out of office next year.

that doesn't matter anymore. Obama can't pass it either.

Elected officials do not get investigated. How do you think we got Clinton?
