Jersey Bites and Hunger Sucks

Deborah Smith of JerseyBites.com is putting together a million blog march to end hunger in New Jersey.

Not really. Bloggers are so powerful in their own minds that it won't take a million. 100 will do. On December 15 at least 100 New Jersey bloggers will simultaniously post a "This Bank Can't Fail" blogging campaign to help spread the synchronized word about the increased demand being put on the food pantries in New Jersey and how everyone can help. Debbie will make it easy by providing sample content, text, pictures etc. Stuff like this:

If everyone could just do a little, it would help those in need a lot. To help, people can:

1)Make a monetary contribution: Visit www.njfoodbank.org.
2)Donate food: Drop off a bag of food at your local food pantry.
3)Organize a food drive: The CFBNJ can help explain the logistics of starting a food drive. Just call 908-355-FOOD.
4)Help "Check Out Hunger:" Look for the "Check Out Hunger" coupons at your local supermarket and donate. No donation is too small!

All New Jersey bloggers are encouraged to email Debbie at Jerseybites@gmail.com and join the campaign.

Let's go BlueJersey, Conservative with Attitude, Save Jersey and AverageNoOne.

Step up and be counted Son of Liberty. This should bring Teddy Roosevelt and Barry Goldwater out of retirement.

I have no doubt that Honest Abe and Tom DeSeno will get on board.

Hey Kelly can you get us some ink for this?

Can we store some food In The Lobby?

Mike Halfacre is already on board. As is Melissa Gaffney. If Mike Morris joins I'll give him his link back.

This is something that Bob Ingle and the Jersey Guys could really make a difference with.

Da People are Hungry and daBaconHead should give the Manalapan pols a break for a post.

Dan, Cranbury, Rob and Wally, this is a no brainer. (And Wally, I let you scoop me on McMorrow's Directorship. I was waiting for my poll to close. My readers called it as usual)

If you're on my blog roll and don't sign up with Debbie, Jerseybites@gmail.com, you risk your covetted place on the roll, unless you get more traffic than me and I really want your link.

OK bloggers, now that you have traced the link back to this post, email Debbie, Jerseybites@gmail.com and join the This Bank Can't Fail campaign.

Our collective family had already decided in October to do away with gifts for all the older children and our siblings and just buy some toys for the grandchildren and nephews. We are all throwing some money in one big pot and will donate it to the food bank. They certainly need that more than we need anything. And, the feeling will truly be one of giving this year. It just makes sense. People are hurting and in need of food and clothes just to survive. We just need some food, beer and wood for the fireplace.....

Merry Christmas to all.
