Monmouth County is front and center of the campaign trail today for the top two GOP contenders for the gubernatorial nomination.
Steve Lonegan has a press conference at the Fair Haven municipal building, with Mayor Mike Halfacre, 2PM, to speak out in opposition to Governor Corzine's pension deferral scheme.
Chris Christie has an "Announcement of Monmouth County Supporters Event" at The Lincroft Inn in Middletown, 2:30 PM.
Halfacre has not endorsed a candidate and is attending both events.
