Rible Takes Name Out Of Consideration For Sheriff

Assemblyman Dave Rible(R-11), the newly elected Minority Whip, has informed Lieutenant Governor Elect Kim Guadagno and Monmouth County GOP Chairman Joe Oxley that he prefers not to be considered as Guadagno's replacement as Monmouth County Sheriff.

Rible told MoreMonmouthMusings that he believes he can do more to assist the Christie-Guadagno administration from his leadership position in the Assembly.

Guadagno will resign as Sheriff upon her swearing in as New Jersey's first Lieutenant Governor. Governor Christie will appoint her successor with the advise and consent of the Senate.

Good move.. if Mary Pat gets Human Services, we don't need both seats open there in D.11..and,Mickey Donovan for Sheriff: he's the most experienced and qualified, has run in a tough town ( Neptune) and only lost by a few votes, and has done the drill and paid his GOP dues!-with Rob and Tom Arnone, what a cool county ticket for another big Monmouth win, next November!!..

MIKE BORG FOR SHERIFF!!!

Rible recently abstained rather than vote yea or nay on a gun control bill that was recently before the Assembly. I've never had much respect for cowards.

Where is Neptune? Is that in monmouth county?

(just joshing)

Mary Pat is a RINO. Since when do Repubicans surpport same sex marriage?
She does!
She is an embarrassment to our party.I hope Christie keeps her in Ocean Township.
Rible is a decent guy. How he puts up with her antics deserves an award!

Mickey's resume is available upon request, don't diss whom you do not yet know.... a former "jump out boy" and fabulous prosecutor employee..knows more about law enforcement than any other name so far, because he's actually DONE it..Neptune?.. a force we must reckon with, tough as it is: lost us a freeholder last year, held our own there this year due to lower turnout..any R who pulls nearly even in such places deserves support..look, nearly any R can win Colts Neck!..and, if doing the right thing for the party means anything any more, you ought to give Donovan a serious look!!..as for Angelini, she's always been a Joe Palaia type of R, and yes, leans left.. hope to see a more conservative with Dave next time in D.11: have you heard: it's now vogue to lean right and stand for something!!..

Anonymous 9:37, Didn't know you have to agree with all the Republican positions to be called a Republican. Cheap shot at Mary Pat Angelini. I believe in a woman's right to chose and consider myself a Republican. Frankly, who exactly does it hurt for gays to get married? Certain matters should remain a "personal choice" not a political position.

Whether two people sleep together is a "personal choice"

Wether the government supports the relationship by giving it official recognition is a political issue.

That being said while I disagree with Pat on that issue I still like her.

i have heard that Ronald Feagan had an 80% rule. If you agreed with the party 80% of the time you where ok.
That sounds reasonable.

Also being a sheriff is NOT a law enforcement job. It is an administrative job. It does not need a cop it needs a very good administrator.

ie the party said NO to Rible b/c they do not want to run a candidate for sheriff who is on a police disability pension

I think you mean Reagan.
I am fearful and it is now possible Mary Pat will take her recent win and use this social issue as a mandate to validate her position. That would be wrong. I like her as well but it troubles me greatly her thinking and accepting this as normal. The red warning flag is up!

Donovan is the best candidate period. He is a career law enforcement officer with 30 year experience, command experience, a degree in law enforcement administration, is a Certified Public Manager, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, came within 35 votes of being elected in Neptune Twp. a 3 to 1 democratic town and gained a lot of votes for Kim in the process during her race for Sheriff. He worked for the Prosecutor's Office and developed an excellent reputation with the legal community. He is also a licensed realtor. He has paid his dues for the party as a contributor and has worked for various candidates campaigns in this county and the state and has organized others to do the same. Mickey has integrity and is very electable in the next election and would be an asset to the ticket. What more can we ask?

How come no one has brought up David Flaherty's name for Sheriff.
First off, He's good looking, He also has 29 years in law enforcement, has a master degree, has been an administrator, and has also gotten more votes for the Republcan Party in Monmouth County then anyone else. Talking about someone paying their dues? What ever happens, I just want to say "Thank You" to David and his wife Michelle for all of their work toward getting Christie and Kim elected

With all due respect to his service, I'll ask, who is Dave Flaherty ? Where is he from, where was he a police officer for 29 years, how was he an administrator? ie. Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief?, Chief? etc. etc. Give us the details

end result: Mickey for Sheriff!
