Baroni Endorses Sipprelle For Congress

Calling Princeton businessman Scott Sipprelle a “game-changer” who gives Republicans a strong case for defeating Rush Holt in November, popular State Senator Bill Baroni (R-Hamilton) announced he has decided to endorse Sipprelle’s campaign for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District.

“Scott Sipprelle’s combination of a compelling personal story, his proven record as a job-creating businessman in the private sector, and his ability and willingness to compete financially with an incumbent Congressman makes him a very strong candidate,” said Baroni, a key player in the election of Republican Governor Chris Christie in 2009.

Baroni added: “Scott’s positive, optimistic message of economic renewal and political reform will resonate with voters across the 12th Congressional District. I came away from my personal meeting with Scott extremely impressed with his passion, energy and commitment to this race. He is someone that Republicans can rally around, who will also draw votes from Democrats and Independents tired of business as usual in Washington, DC.”

“I am honored to have the support of Senator Baroni,” said Sipprelle, who recently announced he had contributed $250,000 to his own campaign and planned to match at least the first $1,000,000 in donations from his supporters. “Bill is a strong leader and a proven winner when it comes to elections. This is a great day for my campaign.”

In an article at Politickernj Baroni was quoted praising Halfacre, “I think Mike Halfacre is great. I think he’d make a great congressman. I have the opportunity, however, to have a Mercer County Republican go for Congress. I know Scott Sipprelle and I’m supporting him.”

it comes down to who can go the distance and bring the win home..NJ's losing 1 seat after this census, it will likely not be most of 12, so it needs to go "R" this time..

Hey anonymous 11:45 - aren't you the same jackass who predicted a Corzine win because Christie and Lonegan were in a primary fight? If Brown wins today, the momentum will be so great going into November, the Republicans could run one of the Geico cavemen and he'd trounce Holt.

Isn't the name of this blog More Monmouth Musings? I don't see much support for Monmouth's homegrown candidate Halfacre being posted here....

Smart call on Senator Baroni's part. Sipprelle is clearly the strongest candidate that the GOP can put up against Rush Holt.

That endorsement should help Halfacre.
