Halfacre: "I'm the better messenger and I will raise the money."

In response to Scott Supprelle's press release announcing his $250K contribution to his own campaign and pledge to match the first $1 million donated, Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre to MoreMonmouthMusings, "I am the better messenger and I will raise the money to beat Rush Holt."

"We all know my primary opponent has money, but what is his message?" Halfacre said, "I think that the Republican voters of New Jersey are going to be a little skeptical of a guy who, the day after he announces his candidacy, without yet posting a single substantive issue of his own, his second press release after announcing is that he’s going to give $250,000 to his campaign and match up to $1 million,” he said.

“Ok, Scott, we know you have money. Where do you stand on the issues?”

"Who is the family in Monroe or South River going to relate to, a Wall Street insider who came up in the world of insular private schools and never had to worry about his next mortgage payment, or someone who shares the same concerns and faces the same challenges that they do? Sipprelle has money, but he doesn't have a message and he is not the best messenger in this race."

Huh? I don't get it, I'm not looking to elect a friend we need to elect a Congressman and by the way, What is Mr. Halfacre's message? Either it just was not memorable or I haven't heard anything from him either. Just remember one thing, it appears that the primary fight is going to be personal, maybe you should rethink that Mike.

When Halfacre does not get his way, it always gets unnecessarily and uncomfortably personal. That might never have been known without a primary contest. Fortunately we now have such a contest so that true colors can be shown. This behavior is not befitting the office of a Congressman; he simply lacks the gravitas for the job.

This is so stupid. It's like a race to lose to Rush Holt.
