MMM polls

Christine Hanlon is rocking in round II of the "Who would be the best running mate for Rob Clifton this year?" poll. One day into the week long poll Hanlon has 32% of the vote. Tom Wilkens, who made it into the polls only because I ran into him at Lincoln Day, continues his strong showing with 25%. Not bad for a guy who has not even indicated an interest in running.

While the poll has "only" 158 votes so far, the action is impressive given that the first poll had 228 voters after 7 days. There is evidence of campaigning going on.

Anna Little had an early lead in the Freeholder poll, but has lost votes (you can change your vote) since announcing for Congress in CD 6.

Little has an early impressive lead in the CD 6 poll which has been up for less than 24 hours. She has 45% of the vote. Diane Gooch has 28%. Word on the street (and at PolitickerNJ) is that Mary Pat Angelini and Bill Barham will not run if Gooch announces. Gooch announced that she will announce, according to PolitickerNJ.

Here is a good question for you.
Will the same Monmouth County Politicians who are saying all Sipperelle has is Money, Halfacre has the Grass roots support and the experience say the same thing about Gooch when she enters the race? I mean she has doesn't have Sipperelles resume. realy $$$$ is all she has. Anna has grass roots rupport and is an experienced elected official.
I can't wait to see how they spin this.

-It seems to me that perhaps others may know something that we don't yet about Wilkens's intentions of running. I personally think he would be an EXCELLENT choice!! I hope the rumors are true!

Will committee representatives be able to vote or will Oxley lean on Municipal Chairs to push his favorites without a convention?
Backfired last time, didn't it Joe?

You raise an interesting point....but the only similarity between Little and Halfacre is not having deep personal pockets to get started.

Little is likable while he isn't. She has a proven track record as an elected official of going against the establishment---even if it meant risking her own political neck...while he doesn't. I doubt if Anna Little would set one foot near the infamous Chamber of Commerce train to D.C. to rub shoulders with lobbyists and the old boys network, while Halfacre did and even tweeted and bragged about it (and himself, of course) last year.

Anna Little is a selfless public servant who deserves our support. The Gooches have given financial support to Halfacre's campaign. It would be curious to see if Halfacre himself will support Anna Little!

Anon 2:24 - so it seems that you're really implying that the process last year worked --how did it backfire? R's won. And, people backed the candidate they thought was best. So if you want to run or want to back someone, get your vote to the committee. It's up to the candidate to get in there and wow the group. That's what happened last year with John C. It was by indiviual vote so it doesn't matter what the Chairman or anyone thinks. It's the muni chair, or elected official whose asked to vote--you need to ensure they show up and support you or your candidate. Looking at the list, Tom W. looks like a good candidate.

It is great and all that Christine is in this poll but, she can't do it unless her law firm gives up all their lucrative county contracts. It is kid of pointless to have her on this poll.

She could join another firm. No?

Are Grace, Barbara or Joe interested in running? Pontless to have them in the Poll? What is your point? If Christine decides to run she will be an excellent candidate. Young, educated, hard working, professional. She will connect with segment of the county which will be critical for success in November.

What is your point?

The point is to generate interest in the Freeholder race and potential candidates.

It seems to be working.

Art,
I get your point. You are doing a great job generating interest! Was negative anon post that I was refering to. Some of these folks need to get over themselves and make a postive case for whoever they belive in. We need to win AGAIN in the fall. Great year in 2009. We can repeat in 2010 if we stay focused, positive and unified. On to victory. Go Christine!!!
