With a vote on the Pelosi/Reid/Obama healthcare bill looking more and more likely, Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre, Republican candidate for Congress in NJ-12, today called on his primary opponent, Scott Sipprelle to call the five House Democrats he made campaign contributions to last year and ask them to vote against the bill and to support the Republican alternative.
“Passage of the Democrat healthcare legislation will be a disaster for our nation,” said Halfacre. “I urge Scott Sipprelle to call the Democrats that he donated money to last year- Allen Boyd Jr., (FL-2); Charles Melancon, (LA-3); Heath Shuler, (NC-11); Barron Hill, (IN-9); Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, (SD-1)- and urge them to vote against Obamacare and for the Republican alternative.”
Halfacre said he laid out a healthcare blueprint in early February which has much in common with H.R 4038, the Republican alternative to Obamacare. (The plan can be found at www.mikehalfacre.com).
“My plan and the House Republican plan recognize that we need to reconnect the insured to their policy, and the patient to their doctor. We need to let market forces like competition and choice help to bring costs down, not have the government telling us what we can pay or what procedures we can have or telling doctors what they can charge.”
Halfacre said “I know my plan is a good one, because two weeks after I put it out, Scott had something similar on his website. Scott should call his Democrat friends as soon as possible and ask them to vote against government run healthcare and to support the Republican bill.”

yawn, these press releases are desperate. Almost as bad as the one that says Scott was a Republican from 1987 to 2000, became an independent from 2001 to 2007 during the massive Bush deficits.
Even politicker was making fun of halfcracker.
how can people who've been in the game for so short a time sound so OLD???
I think it is great Halfacre finally admits he can not carry the ball and we need someone like Sipprelle to close the deal. As I recall many of those who recieved money from Sipp voted against the plan. Well done!
